to build or not to build?

Hey all,
I currently have a 1997 2.5L tj with 190,000 miles on it. I really want to build it but it just seems like a waste. I've already repainted it and sprayed the inside with bedlinner. But after I spend $4000 plus to lift it the right way and get 33"s on it, its still going to be a four cylinder with 190,000k on it. So I guess there are two questions: 1) should I spend money to build it or save money and get a newer one? And 2) should I stick with what I know and get the newest tj I can afford or spring for the new 4 door jk that I'm slowly falling in love with? All opinions are welcome.
Thanks for your input in advance

I'd save up and buy something newer. If you know you love the 4dr JK save up for that. Putting a lot of money into an older, high mileage vehicle is a slippery slope that can easily turn into a money pit.
