today was a day of firsts

Went to the lake with my buddy and a couple girls. The road to get there is pretty loose sand. While we were swimming we saw a lifted gmc 2500 come down the road, he hit the loose sand and lost traction and got stuck. Pulled the jeep over to him and he told me his 4wd was broke and i got to pull out my first truck.

A few minutes after pulling him out the wind got real strong. We look over to see some dark clouds rolling in (those in the jersey/pa area def felt this storm) I have no roof or doors and my soft top is to beat up to use so i leave it off. We fly home as fast as we can but get hit hard halfway back. Found out rain hurts at 60 mph and windshield wipers are useless when the rain hits the inside of the glass haha. Finally we make it to a gas station to wait it out. It was the most fun yet terrifying expierence ever

That first trip with no top or doors is an eye opener..... almost like riding a motorcycle but the rain is EVERYWHERE....... and coming from everywhere.....

Glad your initiation was pleasurable......

BTW...congrats on pulling the 2500......

Congrats on the 2500!

Took the family out to the beach a couple weeks ago with the top off, hadn't got the doors off yet, need a place to store them. Anyway I hadn't been airing down when surf fishing as the sand seemed firm enough. Well, hadn't rained in quite awhile now and maybe with all the recent traffic the sand had gotten a bit softer. Got ready to leave and spun the tires in 4wd and dumped sand everywhere inside. Had a mesh sunscreen that held the rest of the sand that didn't fall through which fell through on the drive home. Next time the wife will be airing us down if I don't. I've only pulled out a couple s-10 blazers so far, still waiting for the big fish myself. Patiently waiting for the next top-down adventure.

I just got caught in my first rain storm tonight since I got my JK. We went out to eat, the wife says it looks like it's going to rain, about a minute later we look outside again and it's pouring. No top, no doors and a child seat in the back. Luckily it stopped a few minutes later but was a wet ride home. Not the first rain storm I got caught in, had my fair share when I had my TJ.
