Too old for a Jeep?

I've been wanting a jeep since I bought my first vehicle but decided that it wasn't worth the insurance (insurance cost more than Jeep payment)...so I did the reasonable thing and bought a car instead. It's almost 15 years later and I still regret that decission.

I'm 34 now but will be 35 when I get a new car, this time I'm hoping it's going to be a Jeep. Is that too old for a Jeep owner? I don't feel old and I figure now is my last chance to get one. I just don't want people to think I'm having a mini mid-life crisis!

You could be twice your age and still not be. As long as you can drive, you're never too old for a Jeep.

My 3rd vehicle was a '79 CJ-5 that I bought new but sold it a couple of years later due to young family concerns. I just bought my 2nd Jeep, a '12 JK, & at 55 I don't feel too old for this at all. In fact in makes me feel much younger

Life has a way of putting some things on hold.

I've wanted a Jeep since I was 15. I'm now 65 and looking forward to finally making that happen at the end of this model year, at which point I'll be 66. You have many years ahead of you to enjoy a Jeep, even if for some reason it doesn't happen when you are 35.

34 yrs old too old for a jeep? Never!

My old man is 58 and he always wanted a jeep as a kid. I bought a TJ with my own hard earned money and he's jealous! lol

I recently took the doors off my jeep and as soon as I took the doors off, I went inside to shower up and when I came out, my jeep was gone! Turns out he took it for a little spin. lol

Funny thing is I heard the average age of new Wrangler owners is about 42.

I had this argument with my wife when i wanted mine. She thinks Jeeps are for kids and if I wanted a 4x4, I should have gotten a nice truck. My opinion is I am finally old enough to not have to drive kids around and can get something "I" want instead of having to think of the family first.

Got my Jeep last Thur and its the best vehicle I have ever purchased.

I sold my '02 TJ to a guy in his mid-70's back in 2008. It may have been the happiest day of his life.

If you are then I'm WAAAAY too old.

No way man...I'm on my 4th Wrangler. Tried to give it up last April at 56 and couldn't do it. Bought another one in February and I'm 57. Once you have one it's in the blood and you will always want one even if you are "between Jeeps".

Edit: I think the more common debate is, at least in my house, that I'm too old to be out wheeling with the younger Jeepers. Phhht to that too!

I've owned a CJ, YJ, LJ and now I have a 09 JKU. Last year I put on rock rails and did the Killington Jeep Jamboree. I just put on a 2" suspension lift, BFG Mud Terrains and tomorrow I am putting on a Smittybiltwinch and Mopar off road bumpers so I can celebrate my 53rd birthday this weekend and do the Pine Barrens Jeep Jamboree.

I was only a few years younger than you when I bought a Harley. It's all about the toys, Bro. Thats what keeps you young.

What a laugh! I'm almost 71 and I just got a Sport Unlimited a couple months ago. I drive it every day and use it specifically for rockhounding because it takes me places most other vehicales can't.

I got one, it's a stocker, but I got one.....It's what I spend my Social Security Check on every month..... The biggest problem I have is trying to figger out how to keep up with all these Millionaires on this forum buying Lift Kits, Tarz and wheels,Bumpers and winches, what size Tarz fit? Which Winch iz best,What Lift I need....This Jeep thing can really snowball ya !! So if ya got deep pockets, by all means buy a Jeep !! LOL "BH"
