Torque wrench

I am going to install my header today, but I read need a torque wrench. It's necessary, right? Over tightening will crack the head and under tightening just sucks, right? Are these available for rent from auto parts stores like steering wheel or harmonic balancer pullers? Also, does anyone know the sequence/pattern for tightening the intake and header? Thanks guys

Autozone will "lend" you one for "free". You just leave a deposit equal to the value of the wrench. You get it back when you return it. I think the nearest one to you in in Santa Rosa....

OK cool. Hopefully Checker/Shucks/Kragen (Kragen in my case) has the same offer or I'll be driving 15 miles each way to Auto Zone a few towns away. I don't see why Kragen won't have it. I've got to know the guys in there pretty good, too.
