Tow Straps

Hey! I want to get a set of tow straps. Which are everyone's favorites? Where is the best place to buy and are there major differences in brands? First set.

Thanks for the help!

Just got these the other night from Home Depot.8,500lbs for $17.00 and the 15,000lbs. for $25.00. Just as a safety devise for each wrangler. hope this gives you a guide, but I am sure there's better out there from the experienced jeepers. This too is my first tow straps... good luck.

Thanks jcf and dabolt!

That was helpful!

Is it a good idea or necessary to have that d ring attachment? It looks like it goes in the tow hitch? Would that just be used with metal hooks? Not the fabric loops?

Word of advice I got from a friend (who had to pull me out of the middle of a river) - I had a tow strap with the metal hooks on it and he said I needed to get one with the cloth loops. The metal hooks are potential hazards - if the tow point gives way and the hook comes loose under tension, it now becomes a projectile that could ruin someone's day. He's been building crawlers and working on jeeps for years, so I took his advice.

I'm sure there are varying opinions on this matter, so this is just my opinion based on a veteran jeepers advice.

Really you should never use the metal hooks, always get the tow ropes or recovery straps with loop ends & use the DShackle to attach them to your vehicle or the attached hooks on the vehicle

You guys are amazing! I have heard to use the loops instead of hooks, so that is what I was leaning toward. Nice to have it confirmed though.
