Just Stop, there is a whole other thread on this. Go read it. It has a bountiful list of information. If you can't find your answer there drive down to your local PD and ask them. But lets not get back into this.

I don't think the dB level is near that high on a real train horn....it cannot be almost 5 times as loud as the space shuttle taking off at the launch pad.

Jet engine at 100', Gun Blast 140dB

Death of hearing tissue 180dB

Loudest sound possible 194dB

150-160 = Eardrum rupture

140 = Aircraft carrier deck.

130 = Jet take-off (100 meters), gun blast at close range.

120 = Human pain threshold, loud rock concert.

110 = Serious hearing damage if sustained for more than 1 hour.

100 = Serious hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

90 = Likely hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

80 = Potential but unlikely hearing damage if sustained for more than 8 hours.

70 = Just annoying, but probably safe.

60 = Typical conversational volume.

50 = A quiet, library conversation.

40 = A whisper.

30 = Barely audible sound.

Ummm yeah what's the point of your table? And a typical conversation is 70+, in fact a raised voice is over 80.

My wheels were new to begin with. I have some other things around the house that need some polish once in a while which is the main reason I was interested. From what I have done, the Bushes works great. I know I will never have an excuse for the wheels on my Jeep to get ugly. I like my aluminum to be shiny so I am always polishing and waxing when I have some time to keep it up. Thanks.
