Transfer case problem

A coworker has a 98 Cherokee sport. With the snow we had over the weekend he put the transfer case into part time. He said it was tough to get back into two wheel drive and the idiot light on the dash says he's in full time. I looked at it yesterday and it seams like its stuck in either full time or part time. Even with the t-case shifter all the way forward in in the two wheel position. I have not looked a the linkage to see if it actually moves on the t-case yet. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe.
