transmission issues for a liberty

I know this is a wrangler forum but figured some of you gurus might be able to help me. I have an 05 jeep liberty and I was driving down the road and it is like it kicked into neutral and wont go anywhere. The fluid aint burnt. And if you let it sit long enough you can get in it and go forward a little ways. Wont go into reverse though. Any clues?

I'm guessing automatic transmition?

With engine at operating tempature, transmtion in Neutral or Park and engine running check the fluid level.

If that's good your transmition is probbly shot

Its the input shaft that goes from the transfer case to the transmission. Had this happen on my 06 Liberty.
