Tube bender

Im looking to bend steel tube for a set of tube fenders for my TJ, and have been looking at a ton of sites that cost a massive amount of money for the completed sets, ive also seen sites that offer diy sets but they arent exactly what im looking for. Ive seen this tube bender listed alot on ebay and was wondering if it could be used for this application and what others. itd be a great christmas gift if itll work!

The one in the link you posted looks to be a Harbor Freight bender.....

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=32888

Most of the time HF has them on sale for about $80.

The one that you posted is not a tube bender it is a pipe bender meant for bending pipe. That means that the tube wont fit the dies correctly because pipe is measured inside and tube is measured outside so the two never seem to be the same on the outside so if you use tube in a pipe die then the bend will look like it was squished in the bend. Spend the money and look into a pro tools bender and dies, the cost may be the same as a set of tube fenders but will look a lot better then being done in a pipe bender.

so the differences between PIPE and TUBE is how they are measured. but why would u want to use pipe on a project and not use tube for the project?

You do want to use tube for your projects, just not in a set of pipe dies.
