Turn signal lights when braking

2000 TJ i noticed that occasionally, my left turn signal stays lit or lights up when i brake. Not sure if its just dash indicator, or actually the turning light. Kinda hard to have someone follow me around and watch for it. Any ideas?

Usually it is a bulb or a bad ground at the light assy may have some bleed over. Easy enough replace the bulb and take the light assembly off clean the ground tailights ground to the tub by the crews that mount them.

My '97 did that and still does according to my daughter. I replaced the multifunction switch and flasher and it made no difference. If I cancelled the turn signal and tried another time, it always started working. I still think it has something to do with 4 way flasher switch that was located on top of the steering column that got wet when the top was off, but since it's not my problem anymore and was only a minor inconvenience when it did occur, I never worried about it.
