I had a "not so similar" experience, and in a more pleasant vein:

On Thursday, my new bumper sticker that I designed, came in....it says, "CAUTION: DRIVER OFTEN GOES TOPLESS" which I promptly put on my rear bumper of my Wrangler.

I had a rag top mustang pull up along side me at a red light, and a fairly cute gal FLASHED me!!!

Around here I can usually tell who will return teh wave before i give it. When i see a woman on a cell phone (which they seem togo hand and hand) i dont wave. If the top is off... whoever is driving will wave, modified jeeps always wave. I have had good return on the waves i have let fly. And i still drive a stocker.. so dont count us guys out of teh nation.

I do the old friendly double beep at night or when Im passing a jeep on the highway

I usually wave to every jeep during the day and do the double beep at all the pedestrians, 1 to let them know im comming and to stay out of the way and also its started up alot of weird gas station conversations about my Jeep, Everyone knows me as the friendly jeeper haha

I get the return wave about 50% of the time... for all those who don't return the gesture, they must not be able to see the , I understand though, it is hard to see with your head up your A S S!

I wave at all the Jeeps I see, stock or otherwise. I get a wave back most of the time, except, as has been noted, by women with cell phones growing out of their ears. Why are they allowed to have Jeeps anyways? Doesn't make sense.

I wave at everybody.People think I am nuts all the time. Then again there probably not far off Hey 4Jeepn I was down your way today. My buddy put his General Lee in the Cruise In at the Alexandria school across from the fire house so I pulled the ol Jeep in beside of him.It was pretty cool I had quite a few lookers and a few questions mostly about the winch and the lift. All in all a good time.My buddy took the trophy for peoples choice.

Have to get my 2 cents in...mine is nearly stock and I can usually tell if the wave will be returned before I throw it out. Top down or doors off will always throw it back. Been driving jeeps for a long long time and I do see the wave a little on the slack side. Tossed a wave while pulling one side in the ditch on a skinny trail....jerk didn't show any type of thanks for giving him the road.
