Undercoating?

I know that undercoating is a huge debate, but i'm gonna bring it up anyways. My YJ has quite a bit of rust under it (Mostly thanks to Ohio's winters and excess salt). Should I undercoat it now to help prevent more rusting especially in areas that new metal has been welded onto? What do you guys all think?

I would take the rust off first with a wire wheel then paint over it. Other than that you just make the rust look pretty while it eats away at your jeep. I do believe por15 will stop rust from getting worse but like I said, it's better to just remove it completely first.

There are some parts where a wire wheel just wont even help the rust is so bad. Next year i'm going to buy a new frame and replace this old rusty one, but until then I would like to at least slow the rusting. I've heard of another product called Chassis Saver, which is supposed to compare to por15...do you know anything about it?

I've heard of it but I have no experience it so I can't say anything about it. POR15 is great though and I feel like it's worth the cost. A quart put 2 coats on my frame and that is sufficient. Check my build thread in my sig for some pics/info.
