Upgrade path for Alternator & Battery

Hey Jeepers,

With adding the winch and all of the offroad lighting, I know I'm going to to be pushing my battery and alternator harder than usual.

My battery is on it's way out anyway. I have a good amount of corrosion around the terminals and it has trouble cranking some days. I'm most likely going to upgrade to an Ultima Yellow Cap (or something similar). Anyone have any recommendations?

... and is there a recommended alternator to go with it to get the most charging power without robbing horsepower from the already meager 2.5?

Denis

Have you tried cleaning the terminals?? That might be the reason you are having some trouble cranking sometimes...ave you hooked a battery tester up to it?? Just asking because most people on here just seem to use a good battery (most don't like the red or yellow tops) and keep the terminals clean.... I'm not sure what alt the 4cyl has...

I know the alternator in mine is the stock one. Looking like I'll be stepping up to the Mean Green sometime in the future. My battery cables were also pretty corroded. I replaced them and it fires right up now.
