I agree with you, i guess i should have worded my original comment better, i didnt really mean that ups sucks, but rather that fedex has been faster to deliver, and less problems for me anyhow.
I use multiple shipping services everyday, none of them have been perfect.
When Jake comes out with his Godcomplex as ups employee, lumping me in to his idea of the ups customer(thats always lying), pulling time machines out of nowhere and jumping to conclusions that pisses me off.
Jake, I dont know why it took so long, and i didn't really care other than to see what service was faster.
UnlimitedRubicon, I guess you can pull that out of context, Jake stated that the tires are stacked with 12 other trailers in a lot, I said that fedex didn't do that. If fedex didn't have full trailers on the highways then i suppose that they would no longer be in business, you would be right. but just as Barrie stated if the trailer is at the station and packages have been scanned as arrived to that location every package would be sent out for delivery, not be restacked into a trailer.
I guess this is what happens when you have to have itmes shipped rather than being able to get them from a local shop.
Super bummed out for you Timjeep. nothing a little patience wont fix.
See where you messing up is you don't know how it works , no one is restacking them in a trailer
Trailers move at night and get unloaded in the morning then go out for deliver
The issue the op is having is there is a holiday in there , so the ground trailers came in sunday night and will sit there till wenesday morning and go out for delivery
Now air is in a different trailer so it will be sorted out on Monday and go out for delivery
I can't speak for UPS but I as a Ground, Home delivery person will be working tomorrow as will FedEx Express.
I am suprised UPS is not doing monday deliveries, maybe it is a Teamster thing. I know personally I have had the best luck with Fedex and USPS over the years. I had a long run of good luck with UPS but then a year or so ago I had a bad run of luck with UPS loosing packages. I had tracking numbers and the packages got scanned in to one location and never were scanned out. I was made whole each time but each time I had to wait to have packages resent. That said I still use whoever is cheaper and suprisingly enough it is usually USPS parcel post on larger packages.
I've personally always had better luck with receiving items sooner with UPS. If y delivery date is the fifth, and UPS gets it to my town earlier than that, it is delivered early. With FedEx, if it is delivered to my town early, it still doesn't make it to my door until the scheduled date of delivery.
Granted, this isn't freight, so that could work differently. But, this has been true with personal items and items shipped by my company.

I drive a 4 door. There is more space for bacon inside.
I too have seen FedEx note my package in town for a few days as well but it waits until scheduled to deliver. If they don't hold it then they need to update thier system to be up to par with UPS. Heck even usps has better service then FedEx here in town. Granted if my regular postman isn't on duty my usps serv sucks. I think its mostly the driver for my route.
I just went to UPS to try to pick up my wheels and tires. The customer service was closed. Oh well, I'll have to wait until Wednesday. I'm off work today, so I shouldn't expect them to be open today for me. Just hoping
As I was pulling out of their lot, I had to wait for a FedEx Express truck to pass
I'm a delivery driver for FedEx Express and we can hold packages at our location for a customer to pick up vs. getting loaded on our trucks and delivered to your house/business. We can also deliver them to a FedEx Office location for you to pick it up, which is much more common since our one local station isn't as convenient as the dozen or so Office locations in our delivery areas, but holding them at our station means they are ready to be picked up by 8:30am. The driver might not be able to get to a Office store until the afternoon for them to be held for you. Basically everything that comes in each day goes out on the trucks, unless volume is real heavy and say it's a Monday, Tuesday freight might be left behind since it's not due yet. But that's how you'll sometimes get stuff a day early as well.
And yes Express drivers are out today, not me since I'm Tuesday - Saturday.
