Used Winch?

I am looking for a winch and don't have alot of extra money to spend. However, I don't want to buy some cheap Chinese made winch that will end up being a paper weight. I have been looking for used warn and ramsey winches on craigslist and ebay, but have not had much luck. Anybody know where to find used winches?

Keep an eye on craigslist, I don't see them everyday but they do pop up from time to time.

Pirate4x4 usually has a few winches in their classifieds.

Depending on your price range for a used Winch you can get a new Smittybilt, Engo or Viper winch.

I have the Smittybilt 8k winch and have had for a couple years now, works great and pulls just fine and was 1/2 the cost of a Warn.

Here's where my Smitty XRC8 lives.

I bought it new and it also worked great for 2 years.......and then died.

I replaced it with a used Warn I bought from a friend in my 4x4 club. The used Warn outperforms the Smitty (even when it was new) in so many ways. Speed, quietness, less battery draw, easy freespooling, etc.

Whatever used winch that you buy, make sure you see it work first.

If you don't want to bother seeing it work, I'll sell you the one in the picture.

Hi! I need some help. I would like to buy winch for my car. I checked the net and I found sth like Gigglepin, Warn, Bulldogwinch, Dragon Winch. I need the good winch in the good price. I will be grateful for some advice. When I was on the rally in the Ukraine somebody had a winch DragonWinch. Have somebody ever heard about it? Thanks

Chris with Jeepaddons has the engo 9000 for $289 with free shipping. This winch tested very well in the winch shoot out. Other than that Iwould say, probably the VR8000 from warn. It is their economy line but still a warn.

If you have a smart phone, you can download the craigs list app. and plug in searches. It will notify you when a listing that meets your criteria gets posted. I've had my jeep less than a month and have purchased a smitty built front bumper, High quality rock sliders and swing out rear tire carrier, windshield light brackets, KC running lights and wiring harness, a pair of Pro Comp lights and a nearly brand new Warn VR8000 winch, plate and snap on license plate holder. I paid less than $1,200 for all of it. Oh, I also found my jeep on Craigs list. The key is to be the first to respond and go look at the stuff with cash in hand. Most people just want a somewhat fair deal and to get rid of their stuff.
