Vehicle history report.

Not a jeep this time, but bought a new daily driver and wanted to know the history, but 40 dollars is ridiculous

Anyone know how to get a history for vin - 2g2wc58c961258080?

Vehicle history is a crap shoot as it will only show what is reported and it is not mandatory to report anything.

Yea but it is better to know what was reported than to know nothing at all.

This is the absolute truth. The vast majority of incidents are never reported to these 'data mining' firms.

Exactly I had been in 3 wrecks in my 07 tacoma double cab and none of them were ever reported. Best thing I have thought to do is what the dealers do. Get them to take a paint meter around the vehicle with you. Check the paint thickness and this will tell you if it has ever been in a wreck.

Actually all it will tell you is how many times it has been painted which means absolutely nothing. If the po didn't wash or wax the vehicle or it wasn't garage kept ,lived in the hot sun, was keyed, or had brake fluid on it are all reasons for a repaint. It would have nothing to do with why it was repainted.
