Warning!! Rant!

Why did you bother to make me an 0900 appointment Mr. Service Manager, if when I get there and say I will wait for you to replace my peeling Rubicon Decals, you tell me you'll try and fit me in? Then it takes 3 1/2 hours to put on said decals, because the hood was too hot? Hello, it is summer in NM, and my Jeep is a deep burgundy, outside air temp, 102, hood temp, thinking in between Mercury and the Sun. This is why I do my own service, and if they hadn't been under warranty, they would be gone from my hood. If they peel again, I will go with my first instinct and remove them, it isn't like I care if anyone knows it is a Rubicon, not a status symbol for me.

Dave

I removed ALL decals, badges and logos from my jeep. Makes it WAY easier to wash and wax my ride.

oh 2013 owners, how you amuse me. Hey, if you feel its a good use of time to go to the dealer for getting a sticker back on, then sure. But next time I might ask before hand how long it will take, and then at the 1 hour point ask for a loaner Charger and head home. Not worth it at all IMO to wait around that long. I woulda just asked for the keys back after the first 30 minutes!

Do you really think only 2013 owners would rant about something like that?
(P.S. - He doesn't own a 2013).

My dealer won't give me loaners anymore. I took the 200 they let me use through a cow pasture and got dung on the windshield, the roof and in the passenger side of the interior.

I think the owner of a NEW vehicle is correct to demand that everything about function/look/perform as intended. That includes stickers, trim, seals, leaking roof, engine noise, etc. There is a reason why there is a perception that American vehicles are inferior to foreign vehicles. We have come to accept substandard quality as the norm.

Really all those engineers and they can't figure out how to get a sticker to stay on a vehicle? The Rubicon is a flagship vehicle for Jeep. It is the best of what they have to offer in off-road capability, and they can't get a sticker to stay put? (Other examples include -Making excuses for why a Jeep leaks as "the Freedom Panels are complicated, and they will leak" is accepting substandard quality).

The only thing that saves a company is those who represent it. That would be the dealerships. The actual company has little to no interaction with it's actual customer. The dealership is the one who represents the company to us the customer. Keeping appointments, valuing my time as a customer, responding to my questions/concerns/issues in a timely and satisfactory manner is what will either bring me back or send me to the competition. That means either a different Jeep dealer or a completely different vehicle brand.

I have had a good experience with my dealership, and the service department there. If there is going to be a delay, they let me know upfront. They don't leave me sitting there wondering what the heck is taking so long.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect anything less than perfection when I plop down $30K + for a vehicle.

'scuse me while I put my flame retardant suit on...

I doubt the engineers care about the quality of the decal vinyl used. My guess is that is more of the marketing people (they probably have a fancy dept name) and the contract they have with the decal supplier/maker.

I have no doubt that "Sticker Production" is probably outsourced to China.

done right, how long?

If the stickers are done (redone) right, how long would it take? Actually you would have to remove the old, then remove any and all wax down to the actual paint surface, clean and prepare, the install the stickers.

After that you would have to rewax that portion (hood) of the vehicle and buff it out to match the rest.

Most likely the peeled them off and pressed on new ones. run it out.
