What is a good size welder to have around garage for jeep projects?
88 Wrangler, inline 6, 5 spd, 8.8 rear end w/3.73 gearing, lifted, mud tires, sound bar w/cd player, Olympic Rock Slider, tube front bumper, herculined and the rest is pretty much stock

Look into the ready welders !! you can use them for your shop but they are great to bring with you on the trail !!! I have used mine several times but have seen it used countless times..

They come in handy when you are broke in the middle of nowhere !!

You start off with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience, The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck runs out !!

if you are looking for something to keep in the garage, and not something portable ... look into a Miller 140 .... it uses the standard 110V plug and welds very well ... for thinker stuff it will take more passes, but its a great welder ... if you need soemthing with a little mroe umph ... try to miller 180, but it does take a 220V outlet

it all depends on what you are using it for and what electrical service you have
Remember kids: without me its just 'aweso'!

Just did a bunch of reaserch this past fall for which welder to purchase for the lawn service. Read and talked and did some more reading. Bought one took it back. Tried several. Ended up getting the flux core 104amp 110v two setting Harbor Freight unit. Got a great deal and its the shit! Boy itll burn through 3/16" steel and still beg for more. It's been a good unit so far. Have weld' well past the 1/4" mark.
