Angry Well she got broken into again...

...but unlike the first time she was broken into, I made sure that I kept nothing of value in it this time. Satellite radio and stereo faceplate go inside with me every night. All they managed to get was a handfull of loose change - have fun spending that douchebags

What pisses me off though is they broke my center console lid. I even left it unlocked for that very reason!

I suspect it was a bunch of kids on spring break with too much time on their hands who did this, maybe even the same ones who broke into it the first time. I usually don't lock my doors because I don't want any would-be thief to cut my windows to get in but now I'm considering locking them to keep the amateurs looking for a quick score out.

I dunno the point of this thread, just ranting I guess. I live in an apartment complex that is safe as can be but all it takes is a few knuckleheads with no respect for property to ruin your day.

Now I guess I'll use the money I was saving for lower half doors and spend it on a tuffy center console.

Thanks for listening.

The tuffy console is a good investment. I don't and never have locked any of our TJ's, they are all soft tops. Even with that I have a stash of spare door skins and side windows, I pick them up at swap meets as I find them. I have a spare set of uppers with scratched windows that I swap on to whatever one I am taking to the city or to one of the bigger malls on the rare occasion I go there.

A few years ago I was in my S10 parked at a mall when I saw this kid walking down the aisles in the parking lot, keying cars on both sides as he walked, I got my feet up against the door and waited till he got to me and kicked the door open with both feet. Laid the kid out flat, called the cops and they arrested him.

I can't wait to get my jeep, but the security thing is one of my biggest fears, that sucks man, sorry to hear it's happened to you twice now!

I guess the tuffy center consoles aren't a bad idea after all.

i had the tuffy in my old yj, and put the radio in it. never had any problems. it is strong, it would take a lot to brake into it, but it is possible

I need to get a tuffy too.

I know the feeling of leaving for work only to find your driver's door open and your stereo gone.

Happened to me w/ my S-10

When me Odhinn and OC took a trip to New Mexico, Odhinn and I had woke up early about 4-5 am and went outside the hotel to chat so we would not wake up OC. Well about 10 mins later we saw 3 people going around all the vehicles checking to see if the doors were locked. I yelled in a real deep voice "HEY! WHAT CHA THINK YOUR DOING" I scared the shit out of one of the guys and he was tripping over his own feet trying to run off.

You can edit your own posts. You have about fifteen minutes to do so then you're stuck with what you said. It's the same for supporting members.

I like my hard top and full steel doors. It makes it less inviting, but also more of a pain in the arse come summer time.

Get a 2 way alarm dude!!! this could have been prevented and they could have been cought. The way a 2 way alarm works is you can mute it so it doesnt go off and beep like crazy and they cant hear it however it will beep on the remote that the alarm has been activated therefore you will wake up and call the police while they dont know that the alarm is on (again muted).

I leave nothing in the jeep, but if they want it they will take it.

I have had 2 different cars get broken into 7 different times. My VW Golf and my nissan, i got so fed up I took a friends advice and wrapped the radio deck in razor wire. The next time someone tried to steal my radio, he lost his finger tips..they were on my floor board, he was caught...found out he broke into my car 3 times.

People who mess with other peoples cars really tick me off. Never happend to me yet. Knock on wood. One of the worst feelings I could have is either comming out to find my jeep keyed up or knowing some dirty crack head crook was inside sitting on my interior plundering around. Im getting pi$$ed just sitting here thinking about it. Would love to catch someone in the act and give them a suprise attack with a baseball bat.

Only if the law punished thiefs with what they deserve this world would be a better place. I'm not talking 1-2 years in prison or whatever. I'm talking about cutting hands, torture, starvation, etc... simply stuff that will make a thief think twice before stealing stuff. Also i believe every thief should be treated equally. You steal a radio, you get the same punishment as some one that stole a car.

^^ then everyone would be stealing cars, since if it was the same punishment as everything else why not just steal the big stuff!

would you steal a car if the law says you will have your arm cut off, punished and tortured for couple years and then sent to jail for a "cool down"? Big stuff is harder to steal. But i gues if its "big stuff" then i'd go with an even harder punishment. Simply what i'm saying is the current punishments are nothing. Increase them and make them much, muuch harsher.

No, maybe a tatoo or brand T on the forhead, public whipping, a week in the stocks with people throwing rotten food at you. Cut off an arm or hand and they'd be on welfare for life. Rapists on the other hand need to be neutered with wet rawhide and a heat gun....

yeah never lock your doors if you have a soft top. my teacher had a soft top locked his doors and they cut his top he came out to find the lady sitting in his back seat. also i saw a tuffy security glove box that had been broken in to and let me tell you it didnt look easy.

If the hard top is on, then I lock it.

If the soft top is on with the widows up because of rain or something, it's unlocked.

Normally, I have the top down or the windows down I keep it locked. If they reach inside to unlock the door, the alarm goes off.

I've had 3 cars broken into. The last one was my YJ. Thing that sucked is it was unlocked and the douchbag pulled the frame of the window down to get inside. I guess you don't have to be a rocket scientist to be a crook.

i know this is a little late in the thread but i think the gun holster on the seat would be a good idea. i heard of people putting them on their motorcycles when they go into a store. if you think worrying about your jeeps are bad buy a 400 pound motorcycle.
