WF Jeep Fests?

I use to belong to a tractor club that was center around a forum like this. The forum members would have gatherings all over the country they would call Cubfests (It was an IH Cub tractor club). A member would simply post that they were hosting one along with details and those wishing to attend would simply let them know. The gatherings were generally over a weekend and hosted by one of the forum members. They were family friendly gatherings that were either at a forum members home or a place large enough to handle whatever sized group that planned to attend such as at a park. All would chip in for meals throughout the weekend. The days would be spent socializing and/or doing shop work on a tractor or two all while getting to know others that shared a common interest. The nights would be spent hanging around the camp fire. People would either camp at the Host's home/park, or stay at area hotels. I even hosted one myself. My fest ended up having around 200-250 people from 14 states, 40-50 tractors and loads of fun for everyone.

I know many people have organized groups for various jeep events that often involve rock climbing and treacherous trail riding which is lots of fun. However, what I was wondering, does this forum engage in activities a little lower keyed much like I described through my experience from tractor forum only for jeep wrangler owners for a weekend of non stop cooking out, socializing, and fun for the entire family? If so, great, just point me to the details. If not, I wonder if something like that would work here?

This is a great idea. I used to belong to a Chevy Avalanche club forum (world wide members) and we would get together locally to do things. Meet at a restaurant and hang out in the parking lot and check out each others vehicles and talk, then go in and eat. We also had a big get together where different on-line and local shops donated items to be raffled off. It was a great way to actually meet the people we "talked" to all the time. I would like to do something like this here in SE Wisconsin.

For the most part the members on here like to include 4 wheeling along with their gatherings. There are two this spring that are happening on the East Coast and West Coast. They are actually going on the same weekend. We would love to see more events popping up all over the place. As we grow as a group I think you will see more of what you have described happening all year long.

i plan on posting an invite thread every time we go to the pine barrens or up to rausch creek. all of the "venues" will be pretty much the same, wheeling during the day and hanging out around the camp fire at night.
