Its easy to join that club... And it has nothing to do with making alot of money and having kids (well maybe it has something to do with that).
Its all about allowing the US Govt to use your money without paying you any interest...
Increase the amount of money that is taken from each of your checks, and then at the end of the year you can get it all (or at least a larger portion of it) back.
Ive never understood why people do this (except those who cannot manage their own money). If you can manage your own money, you are MUCH BETTER even putting it in an interest bearing bank account.

I'm getting about $2600 back from taxes...plan to get a set of Duratracs and some 16'' Procomp 7069's. I'm saving the left over for student loans, small things, towards getting another Mustang.

I'd be getting $3600 back but my parents are claiming me as a dependent even though I'm 99% positive they can't.

Well im scraping by as it is so last thing i want is the gov taking even more money from my paycheck. Insurance, medical, bills, food, gas man does it add up fast.

Lolol. Much better meaning earning like $15 over the year? I'd rather just do what I do. Thanks for the sage financial advice though. What you say is true. In theory anyway.

Kids and mortgage interest are the biggest contributors to mine. A healthy income helps too.

Sending the govt my next month of paychecks to cover taxes.

Always figured it tight cause dont like letting gov hold onto my money, wife and I both had some career advancement this year and forgot to adjust deductions sooo taking a beating from unk sam this month.

So all projects are on hold, too cold in garage anyway

Exactly.

I have it figured out to about $200. Plus or minus. Sometimes I pay, sometimes I get it back.

They get a ton of money from me each year to make their bad spending decisions with.

Why let them have anymore than needed?

Exactly!
If rather pay at the end of the year than let the gov waste more of my money throughout the year lol

I, along with several others, will be writing the IRS a 5 figure check ... had some gains this year and didn't pay enough. Terrible feeling.

Crazy how many people dont understand taxes. You dont just get a refund for having kids and a morgage, it just deducts what you owe, or your taxable income. Either above the line or below the line. Getting 7k back is a horrible idea. That could have been invested in todays market and earned a easy 4% interest. This would give you an extra $280 dollars instead of interest free loan to the government.

This thread has gotten annoying.....

It's what are you doing with your refund.... Not complain about the government using your money for free.....
Just sayin

If I happen to get a refund, whatever I get goes into my "property taxes" savings account to pay them in Dec. every year. So yeah, nothing fun.

I'll owe them more again. Mostly on extra income that nothing is taken out on. It will come in about 30% of that. And I have my regular income set up so its close to neutral. As close as I can get it anyway. No refunds for me. No real deductions to take anyway.

Well, it's a combination of an income tax return and credit card cash back but here goes:
Smittybilt X20 10 comp series 10000 lb winch,
XHD Aluminum Front Bumper,
Winch MountAEV JK Slider - Rear Differential Skid Plate,
PIAA 530 LED fog lights w/mounts,
Aluminum Front XHD Bumper Ends,
Rancho Dana 30 Front Diff Drive Skid,
JKS Swaybar Quicker Disconnect,
Over-rider Hoop for XHD Bumper,
EVO control arm skids (front & rear),
Cobra 75 WX ST CB,
PIAA headlight bulb upgrade,
PIAA windshield offroad lights,
Jump-N-Carry portable 12-Volt Jump Starter,
JKS Steering Stabilizer Relocation Bracket,
Viair 88P Portable Air Compressor,
Snatch Block Pulley, 30,000 lbs,
Rugged Ridge D-Ring Receiver Hitch,
Smittybilt CC330 3" x 30' Recovery Strap,
Sport Bar Fire Extinguisher Holder,
Tire deflators,
Flashlight Holder,
Grab Handles,
Garmin Etrex 30 GPS suction mount,
Daystar KU70056RE Red D-Ring Isolator.

A lift kit is conspicuously absent. I'm on fence as to whether I actually need a lift kit here in Northern VA. I do think the AEV 2.5" DualSport lift kit is pretty sweet though.

LOL. Long story. Here's something weird; in this massive frenzy of ordering stuff I don't remember who I ordered the winch from.

Time to claim some dependents. The IRS is loving you. Can I borrow some money interest free? Lol
