What did you do w/ your old gears after regear?

I'm getting ready for a regear and was wondering what you did with your old/original gears? Should I try and see if the shop doing the work wants to make me an offer on them? Should I try to resell them myself? Can I get anything for them?

I'm replacing my stock 3.21s.

thanks

Save them for a metal art project or scrap them.

Degrease them and toss them into the recycle bin.

Don't clean them and hang them on the wall of your office. Once a month take them home and soak them in used gear oil, the perfect air freshener.

I threw mine in the boxes the new gears came in and tossed them on a shelf in the garage.
A couple years later, a fellow club member needed them.
