What do you do with doors off?

So spring, warm weather. Great time to leave doors off. Except almost daily get 30-60% chance of rain. Rarely heavy or last long, late afternoon. But enough to get seats wet, which not ideal when gotta dress up for work.

Last summer I carried a poncho and slipped over seat each day. But was curious what you do and if any better ideas.

Interested in this as well. Finally thinking about taking my carpet out for the first time. Maybe.

Carpet is out. Think I'll run safari top and large trash bags to cover the seats! The safari has a sun rider option.

Does anyone worry about the radio getting wet if it rains? I just put in a new sound system and I'm looking at covers they use on boats to cover the head unit but what will stop water from going through the dash? It it even worth worring about?

I am pretty good about leaving top up during rain.

Once I got it soaked, like 2 hours hard rain, with top off. No damage. Was aftermarket unit that is not marine. But I would never test it again ha.

I bought a Bestop Trail Cover about 4 years ago and it has been an absolute Godsend. Best $132 I've yet spent on any Jeep accessory.

I just got mine yesterday and put it on tonight to keep the dew off. We are expecting rain Friday and I am thinking about keeping it on to test it.

I have one question though: did it need to stretch out a little before it fit really good? Mine is super tight and it doesn't fit well in some areas near the doors, it didn't cover the door hinges on the drivers side completely. It just seems like it needs to stretch some before it fits perfectly. It was 80 degrees today when I put it on.

Yes it will stretch a little but not much. It is supposed to be tight. If you are using it with the soft top on, but down it will be even a little tighter.

I have the top down right now. I did notice that in the back where the top is folded down is extremely tight and doesn't fit well. I suppose it won't fit any better with a soft top boot on? How long have you kept the trail cover on in the rain? It is suppose to pour Friday and Saturday and it's suppose to be beautiful Sunday so I am thinking of keeping it on during the rain storms to try it out.

The tighter the better, that way the wind won't affect it as much. In Kansas, it rarely rains without wind, so I'm glad the Trail Cover is tight. As for how long I've kept it on in the rain, it depends on how stupid crazy it's raining. For instance, last evening I looked out at my dearly beloved and it looked like the cover was stretched to its max with a swimming pool amount of water collected up top. I went outside, dodged every other raindrop, and wormed my way into my Jeep. Then I just shoved the cover from below to rid the top of the collected water. That's the only time I've ever had to do that, but it had been raining for 3 days straight. Today makes 4 days. Damn farmers had better be happy...

I don't have them, but I'm wondering if getting a pair of Bestop 2-piece full soft doors would be a way to go. Seems like they could store pretty easily in the back of the Jeep and thrown on quickly for inclement weather. Anyone have these? Of course, I'm assuming since the OP only mentioned the doors being off, that they still have the top up.

Yeah I have soft top and generally keep it up. And I thought about the soft doors as well but I have a 2 year old in a car seat. So I wouldn't have room in back seat.

I think for my situation I'm going to stick with the poncho. It hasn't let me down yet. Looks a little silly but it works ha
