Right now I couldn't warrant the cost of something so expensive and then maybe use it 2-3 times a year.... especially when everyone I wheel with already has one.

Gave the faded ugly fenders a make over!!!

Painted them with Krylon Fusion Paint (Black Satin)

BEFORE:

AFTER:

This was an easy job that I highly recommend.

Plus, I took the cheerio sized spare off the back. Man that really helps in doing away with the ugly factor.

I've heard of people taping newspaper to the side of their jeep to prevent overspray, but I chose to remove them so I could clean the mud and dirt out from behind them. Plus while I had them off I waxed it, as I don't wax very often. Her paint job still looks kinda good though for being 10yrs old imo. It only took three cans, and that covered all fender pieces plus the front plastic piece under the grill that says "JEEP"

EDIT: I would also recommend a ratcheting box wrench. I tried the small socket wrench on the first piece and it really started pissing me off so i ran to Autozone real quick and spent about $6 on the ratcheting box wrench. Made life much easier.

i started to test fit my fenders. got most of it done, just have to figure out how to use the stock airbox or find out what airbox i have to use to be able to hook up my arb snorkel.

i also started cutting out the stamped jeep logos off of the sides of my cj5. 1 side down, 1 to go

cnt487: i didnt have my camera to take pics of the jeep w/o fenders, ill get 1 when i take em off for paint
