Nice buy... although round and black steelies usually don't go in the same sentence.

No doubt about that. I bought a set of 5 for my 4X Dakota several years ago. It took three attempts from the place I bought them before we had five that would balance. I sold the truck a few years later and had bought two replacements in that time frame and still only had four left then.

I've been runnin' on aluminum ever since.

I used mine as a farm implement, by using the winch to pull a downed tree off the road, and I tagged it, so I'm good to wheel legal for another year.

I stabbed my tranny back in place. Put the d300 back in place. Think I'm going to go atlas instead.

Took out my seats. Installed some more tube to my roll cage.

I ordered them, and the wheels. When they get here I have to introduce them to each other, then to my jeep.

Put mine on the rack. Greased the driveshafts, tightened up the steering and trac-bar, measured joints for new ones.

tonight i removed the butt ass ugly chrome grill cover and slung it as far as i could
nah. not really, its hanging on the garage wall.
repainted the grill and headlight bezels black. and mounted a couple cheapo utility lights the the front bumper.

i resisted the urge to paint the chrome front bumper black also. but only because i plan on building a new one soon out of 5" C channel.

While this was yesterday....

I made up my flat skid. This was a 3x5' piece of 1/4" grade 50 steel. I cut it to shape and recessed the bolts for a completely smooth tummy. I still have to cut the holes for the stock mounting locations for 12 bolts total.

I cut out these 3x3x3x1/4 angle iron for inner brackets and burned them onto the frame.

Tomorrow I am welding the support pieces on the leading and trailing edge of the skid. Fun fun

Andy, are you not going to run the bolts up thru the frame at all?
