The UPS man was here again..

First I took off the ugly chrome sidesteps..

Spread your flars, babe..

Rocker Gaskets..

First I had to drill some holes..

The first bolts..

Ready..

The other side I did four times faster..

Sanded primed and painted on the uderside of my jeep. Only a little left till it goes back togather. Then made up a drawing of a sub box. Then calculated the inside capacity and so far have made 4 out of 6 sides. Now i'm going to chill with some freinds.

Yesterday I had a replacement window put in the hard top that magically fell into my possession a couple of weeks ago and today I put it on.
I've already noticed that the air keeps it cooler and the stereo sound better.
Only problem is that the sum b!tch is so heavy it may have to stay on for a while.

Its not heavy, its just uncomfortable because of the sharp corners so you cant grab it. If you have a garage, get a hard top hoist and that should solve your lifting problems

It's not really light either though. I guess it's more awkward than anything. I have to get under it using my hands and head.
I'm gonna get the hoist system soon enough for my garage.
Before I break down and buy the one from the catalog I'm might try to build it myself.

Well, I managed to make Lucy undrivable for a day or 2! I had an afternoon to myself yesterday, sounded like a prime time to get that new rear bumper on, right? Well, as he likes to do in my neighborhood, Ol' man Murphy sauntered over for a visit. That Bastard!

Spare off - check
Spare mounting bracket off - check
Jugs off the ends of the stock bumper - check (I should have known Murphy was lurking close by when I had to get out a mallet to get the jugs off!)
Drivers side bolt for hitch removed - check
Top 4 bolts holding bumper to body - check

So far, so good, right? Well, after generous applications of PB Blaster, I got everything loose, but I have 2 bolts left that just spin freely and refuse to come out, one under the bumper and one holding the hitch on. Lovely, so Tuesday I'll be limping up to the local muffler shop to "borrow" a torch!

For my sub i need a sealed box with 0.8-3.0 cubic feet. The box i made has around 1.06 cubic feet. So it's perfect. Some pics of it so far.

very upset now after making what i thought was a perfect box for my sub woofer spent about 2 hours on it. Some how my measurments were off by like 3/4" of and inch and now when i put the speaker in the cone will hit the tail gate. Can the rear seat seat move foward? other wise i'm going to be very sad. I never built a sub box before and i was very happy.

i know what i want to change before i go back tho.. gotta get my wheelbase back to stock with some adjustable cas.. maybe a sye/belly up too

it was good not having to worry about tearing up my d35 any more.. the d44 rocks!!

Sahara, you CAN move the seat forward however you will not be able to connect it at the back and obviously it will be much weaker.

The brackets that hold it to the front (pivot joint?). Each bracket is connected with 2 screws to the floor. Take them out and move the bracket forward a hole so now you only have it holding on to by 1 screw, next you gotta drill the floor and make a hole for the other screw. Then use a nut and bolt the new hole to the bracket. As i said though you wont have anything holding it down at the back.

The reason why its 3/4" longer is because you did not subtract the wood thickness or forgot that the sub will stick out.

ya i forgot to add the wood thickness.I already have spacers that raise the seat about 1/2" to make room for my amp. The back just rest on the floor?
