wow Mr C those things are wild.. what size tires do you need to be running to need those?

you can quote me on the quote i'm quoting from the website..

"He builds these for tractor pull guys in their dana 80's pulling 40,000 lbs sleds"

a funny post i found on that website..

"That right there is some serious axle porn. I barely have that invested in my entire rig"

That really isn't what impresses me about CTMs. I will try to find the other link!

You'd break your transfercase or transmission or motor before you break those in a trail rig

LMFAO!!!

I just can't justify 6000 dollars worth of shafts. Yet.

Yeah my wallet is not that fat but if 1BLKJP wants to buy me a set I will promise to always pull him off the trail when he breaks, it may be on his roof many times but I will pull him out

LMFAO!!!

That whole thread is worth a read over and over again.

Specifically the tech involved with building shafts like in this post.

I understand why they are splinning both ends and that the material is very hard, but this reminds me of the old CJ D20's. A pretty strong housing and gearing but they built the stock shafts the same way and they would spin the outer splines. Once you installed one piece axle shafts they worked well.

well technically, it was yesterday, but i fixed the locking mechanism on both doors, so i can open the doors with the key from the outside, and i fixed the driver side interior door handle.

it wouldnt open the door, so you would have to reach outside and open it with that handle. not anymore... haha

Not sure. I think it is cast pot steel. Probably not very high quality either. I don't believe it to be aluminum but I could be wrong. Just looks that way since it is brand new. Double check the size compared to your stocker unit and you will see why I upgraded for my larger rotors and calipers.

Installed my new bestop replace a top today, took about 2 hours but it looks great and best of all i can actually see out of the windows now!! It's also nice to have functioning zippers so i can take out the quarter pannels and put the top down!

Ah - I didn't think the Fenco ones were Cast Alu, but heard from some people that they can sometimes get a few in on the shelves.

I re-measured for new driveshaft this morning and sent in the order. Now I'm trying to find some decent looking 5-spoke wheels.

Put my IPF headlights and fatboy bulbs in. watched ghost rider afterwards, so I would still be awake for dark

I had started taking pics for a WF write up, old light beams etc.. As soon as it got dark and I drove with the new IPFs, I said F-it, its not worth writing up. If you want headlights, get these.. period.
