Clutches are funny critters, if your replacing it yourself since you gotta go that far into it I always recommend a new plate bearing and clutch no matter what. Fork if needed too. but with any luck you just need a cylinder

A few fun things: installed Rampage Tail Light Guards, Rugged Ridge Fuel Door, and Antenna X 13" Off Road antenna.

Oh, and I removed, drained, and reinstalled my leaky freedom top driver's side panel. What a pain. I also applied some liquid wrench silicon lubricant to all the rubber gaskets in the hopes that might sort it all out by slightly swelling the seals and adding some hydrophobic silicone. I'm open to all suggestions. All the seals, gaskets, foam, etc. appears to be where it belongs, so I'm not 100% on root cause of problem. I have some gasket sealer in case I can figure out exactly the source of a leak or break in the plastic integrity.

Note on the Antenna X antenna: do not use a set of pliers to tighten. I slightly cracked the plastic base that way.

In the process of painting the daughters jeep. Theirs is a '90 and it was the original factory white and really tired. So, we decided on the rattle can job and bought paint this week. Yesterday I sanded, taped and sprayed the first coat. Just finished the second coat this morning and will do a third in a couple of hours.

Jeep before:

Sanded and final rinse off:

taped only:

taped and covered:

first coat:

I want to pull tape SO bad to see what it looks like but am restraining myself till done. Probably put at least one more coat on, maybe two. Oh and this is what I have after the second coat today even using a spray trigger top on the rattle can:

Nope. It's Rustoleum Gloss Enamel, same as we use on the tractors. Hit it with a wax and you are good to go. I love Enamel paint! Never done something as big as a whole vehicle, but I do think it turned out really good. Waiting on the paint to cure totally, then putting the daughters to work waxing it. We have been over 100 every day with a soft dry wind, so it shouldn't take but another day to bake enough in the sun to do it.

Finished paint job:
Baking in the sun after 3rd and final coat:

Closeups:

I like how it turned out! Now to put it back all the little pieces we removed to paint. The next job is to bedline everything that is currently faded black on the outside.

I like it! Great job! And ahhh I didn't realize it was an enamel based paint. Yeah, definitely need to revive the rest of it tho!

Changed the oil, did a 5 tire rotation and cleaned all 5 wheels inside and out and put her away before the storm...

Even changed the oil in the wifes Blazer. Now I need to rotate the tires on that.

Put in all new ujoints front and rear (5 total), mbpr catback, pacesetter header, rear main seal, highflow oil pump, oil pan gasket, autolite xp plugs, starter, and rear axle seals and bearings. Took a couple weeks, lot of it waiting for parts, but finally got it done today!

Installed the Trek Armor seat covers (with urban camo inners) and blacked out the COD badge with Duplicolor's Shadow (paint that turns chrome into black chrome). Its not as blacked out as using plasti-dip but still better than the super shiny stock.
Seat covers are great and installed pretty easily without instructions. I was hoping for the urban black/grey digicam and instead it was the desert.

pa, they stole yur doors again

Well i came out one morning a few weeks ago and my doors were stolen. So when I get new ones I am looking for locks, locking bolts maybe? I don't want them stolen again. Anybody know of a good way to keep the hinges locked and the doors on? Any aftermarket gadgets out there?

Anybody else ever had the doors stolen?

wonder how they stole the doors without unlocking and opening the doors in the first place. Did they bust the glass or cut a soft top?

hi Corey , They unzipped the vinyl window, the plastic glass, and just reached inside to unlock it. I guess, thats how I opened it whenever I locked myself out, but they took the windows and the mirrors too! I knew when I bought the jeep that I could never leave anything of value inside, just accepted that but I never imagined somebody would steal doors off of somebody's car,

funny that they didnt leave a single scratch..

and I have found out that even the salvage yards want a ton of money for shells, locks, levers, paneling, a total headache and a budget buster.
