I have 3 requirements of a head unit. It has to be cheap, have 3 sets of 4 volt preouts, and a flip down face to help protect from dust. The pioneer fits those requirements.

I am sure. The DEH-P4900iB has 3 pair of 4 volt preouts

The only difference between the 4900iB and 5900 is the display.

we also got some rain 10-15 minutes of it though.

Last night we got a lot of of rain in the parking lot at my company in 10 minutes.. it was like some 1 is pouring a bucket on u. The parking has high walls and the drains are the lowerst points just like a pool with a huge drain. I'd say that parking at the lowest point (drain) is maybe 2 ft deep compared to the walls. All that filled up and it started pouring into the docks)

The drain covers are pretty open too.. similar to those only with bigger and not blocked holes.

you know, i was going to get a flip down face head unit, but since im gonna have it in the tuffy center console, i figured it would be more of a hinderance than anything. so i went ahead and got the pioneer deh-3900MP. i'll actually post a link to everything i got for the jeep... (sorry guys, cant post just pics at work...)

receiver:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jy6cqJy...0&I=130DEHP390

dash speakers:

overhead soundpod speakers:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jy6cqJy...isplay=Eclipse

tweeters:

oh and amp (not too much power, but hits the rms for my speakers perfectly IMO):
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jy6cqJy...chDisplay=Sony

and thats all for now, but i plan on getting a bazooka tube, such as this one, or maybe the next one up (8" woofer):

I think you picked some very nice equipment (minus the amp, I hate sony..) JustGotAJeep.

I don't care about sound in an unacoustic jeep to spend that much, but more power to you all! Atleast they will be loud

thanks. yeah, im not a fan of sony either, but this model is the smallest i could find, which would allow me to mount it under my seat, but off the floor in case water gets in the car. and i dont spend as much as those prices, i just find the things on there, and buy em off ebay for a hell of a lot cheaper. for example, the receiver i bought is $140+shipping on crutchfield, where as i got it for $87 shipped brand new off ebay. crutchfield is a GREAT site for product information, but WAYYY too overpriced in my opinion.

oh, about where in MD are you?

We used to go to Ocean City every year for vacation when I was a kid. That place was great. I remember I got a shirt there that said "I got crabs in Ocean City", I just thought it was a cool shirt. Never realized until I was older the other meaning of crabs. Not from personal experience I might add.

I installed new plugs today and it made a huge difference. I didn't think it would change that much with only 45000 miles on it but it did!!

Dj, if your sirius gets jacked again let me know. I got an extra sportster 4, and I can wire it into your glovebox if you want. Then you can use the remote to change stations, and no more theft.

thanks jcs that is mighty nice of you to offer. this one won't get jacked since i will be taking it out every night from now on. i was more bummed than angry that someone would do something like that. what pi$$ed me off big time was the fact that sirius said they had no way of tracking the serial # of the stolen one so that whoever stole it could activate it with no problem whatsoever. i know they need more subscribers to stay in business but damn have some principles.

Funny, takes 1 hour at bestbuy writing down serial numbers to get a replacement, and 46 mins on the phone with sirius telling them the new Sirius Sattelight ID number to get it activated.

Must take too much time to click a button and red flag an SSID number...:chair: :chair: :chair:

Just worn out and the hub has seen a few to many creek crossings for me not to replace it while I was in there. She still had OEM ball joint under her and I will probably replace the other side just to make sure. The good story was on the Install. Levinoss was there to help and soon vanished when it started to pour down rain (he had been up for 36 hours at that point and I think the rain was putting him to sleep). Keep in mind this was all done on the ground in the driveway. I ended up making myself a shelter out of a tomato plant and a tarp to finish the job (lean-to with the jeep hood as the main support tied to my KC's and draped over the tomato plant that was behind me). The tarp collapsed a few time and I was soaked to the bone. In the End the Jeep is back on the road and there is no sign of illness with me, However I did look like a prune for about 2 hours afterwards and OC was very entertained at the wet dog look I had on my face.

The storm we did the Ball joints in was the same one that made Parker County evac. about 2k people because the brazos flooded.

Almost for got to add. The drain off from the roof was aimed right at my tools under the Jeep until I redirected it. When I did that it fill up the dirt area next to the front door and soon overflowed to run right down the drive where my butt was sitting. I was as soaked as a mop in a bucket
