Decided to go ahead and put the soft top on (after getting mad at it Saturday)

I called Quadratec about getting the sail panel window replaced...

And then after about an hour or so with a razor knife I "fixed" the sail panel.

And stored the hardtop on the hoist I built.

Today I made a soft top support bar (to keep it from billowing) from about 46" of 3/4" PVC pipe, 2" Ts, and 2" to 3/4" adapters.

Then I spraypainted it to match.

I also plasti-dipped my tire stop (and my cane) as well as painting Krylon over a few rusty spots.

Later this evening I'm going to deep clean the seats and then Scotchguard them. They're in good condition and I want to keep it that way.

I forgot to mention that I polished the softtop's windows with Pledge furniture polish. I recommend everyone with a softtop do this from time to time.

What exactly does this do, and do you do both sides or just the outside?

It polishes away the cloudiness that time, sand, mud, rocks, trees, etc add. It makes the windows crystal clear again.

It's really easy. Spray the window with furniture polish, then rub it with a cloth until it is clear. Turn the window over and do the other side.

Fixed the rattle I've been hearing for the last couple of years!
It turned out to be the air box rattling against the inner fender...

That depends on your state. The only trouble you can get in that I know of in most states is that it is unsecured/unlocked. It is not concealed, which means that in states that have a maximum length limit for carrying knives without a concealed weapons permit (most states it is 3.5-4") that is okay. I think some states may consider anything inside your vehicle to be concealed, but I'm not sure..

I wouldn't do it myself, even though I have a CWP. Imagine you are pulled over by a cop and he looks up. The police officer may not know whether or not it is technically legal and may decide to leave it up to the court. That makes for a bad couple of weeks.
