I'm kinda of a new owner to a 2011 wrangler Sahara 4-door, I've had it now just 2yrs and want to change it up a bit, but don't know how to go about, and where to go. I want to put a lift on it but am wondering if that will void my factory warranty, has only 22,000 miles, so it's still covered. Also want to get new tires with black rims. Can someone point me in the right direction, and where is the best place to purchase tires ( with tread, and the rims) that isn't gonna drain my pockets? I'm soooo eager to get going, Thanks!!
i started noticing something funny after my last off road excursion. At a stop light, letting off my breaks would feel funny, like my driver side would let go before my passenger. when i got home i rolled under there and looked around and to my dismay the foward bolt holding my lower control arm to the axle was gone. awesome. i know it didn't rattle off because that thing got tightened down with the torqueness. so somehow i sheared the bolt off. went to Ace and got a grade A bolt. problem solved.
Moll2Kml - A cheap way to go with the black rims is Plasti-dip, I did it on my ford Focus last fall it it looks sweet and held up to a MinneSNOWta winter. I would have done my jeep rims too but they are already black. \
It took about 4 hours start to finish, costs about 30 bucks
How do you feel about them? Have heard horror about getting those off brand on eBay :s
I like them (I bought them more to cover damage from an accident than for protection) the angle cuts to the fender flares could be a little better,
but overall the quality seems to be really good the welds look good and the powder coat was in good shape when I receive them.
Put the hard top and doors back on almost entirely by myself. The wife ground guided me into the garage under the top. Fit like a glove. I used the ratcheting tie down strap method to hoist it off the Jeep a couple weeks ago. Worked awesome.
