Talking What if Jeepers Designed The Next New Jeep

I though this might be Fun! if we the silent mudjority had input on the next new Jeep. and who knows some flat nose at Chrysler may see this.

I would put in better rust prevention.especially in the rear where snow and salt gets kicked up by the tires.

All right what you guys got? you know what you like and don't like

One size doesn't fit all.

More powertrain options. At least 3 engine choices; V6, Hemi, and a diesel for those of us that would like to make a workhorse out of our Jeep and also enjoy driving our life away.

If jeepers designed the next jeep, sales from soccer moms and all the other starbucks sipping, jelled hair, cheetoh munchin, nancy boys would dwindle to nothing. However there would be a surge in outdoors enthusiast sales that would surpass the a fore mentioned target group. In short they couldn't make them fast enough and there would be a 6 month wait. The resale value of all previous jeeps would also go on the way side.

Other than the resale thing, I think it would be nothing but positives....

X3, it's time Jeep pulls their collective heads out of their neither region, and gets back to designing a Jeep for what it was originally. The baddest off road muther on the planet.

It's called options. You take a basic design that allows the options so desired to be installed right at the factory.

Yeah I'm from the day where you could walk into the dealer and take a stock box auto and by selecting the proper options, have a fire breathing, wheel smoking, 1/4 mile racer show up. A time when the factory actually built a car you wanted instead of making you take what they felt you wanted.

WoW! these are Great! I really like the idea of being able to custom order your Jeep.if the factory didn't get carried away with prices.you know they could buy stuff cheaper than we could. they could offer a factory rock crawler,by special order.or even a custom Jeep with all the chrome ,fancy panit and all the whistles. or a trail Jeep. the time to relocate or add brackets on the frame,or reinforce the frame,is when the frame is bare ,(new) I really like the additional engines idea. I could see a Hemi in a rock crawler,no headers needed!

Let's face it, if Chrysler were to allow us Jeepers to design the next one most of us couldn't afford it.

Not necessarily. can rid all the electronic power this and power that, heated seats and focus the extra money on other things. I would leave out the more expensive options that are easily added aftermarket for less the price. Example: tires, bumpers, etc.

Make the Jeep interior more versatile for camping.

If you've ever flown in a C130 military transport; I'd like to give the Wrangler the capability to hang two collapsible rigid pole medical litters on the interior passenger side to use as bunks for camping or to second your Jeep as a makeshift off road ambulance. This idea might require quick disconnect pins to remove the front passenger seat and rear seat for quick conversion. The litters, mounting poles, and clip straps could be stored on a roof rack when not in use next to your Hi-Lift jack. This would save you tent set up and tear down time or make you more useful in areas where a Life Flight can't get to.

Okay, let me rephrase that... If I were to design the next Wrangler, I couldn't afford it. I would design it with all the aftermarket stuff that I so desparately want on mine now which includes the lifts, bumpers, swing out spare carrier, etc. The list goes on and it's a long list.

I like options. Like being able to choose bumpers, tire carriers, rocker guards, lift, tires, wheels(wider selection), flairs, winches, engines, ect, like we are able to choose Transmissions and tops.

The one thing about the JK that I like is the location of the muffler, or the fact that the gas tank is not in that location. Having a rock puncture a hole in the muffler is a lot more desirable than in the gas tank.

One problem is that aftermarket items are not created until the vehicle model has been out for a while. Enough time to design the items.

How about exactly like mine, but without a single Torx bolt?

Turbo diesel, more options, selection on gearing, no plastic grill, all standard bolts, no leather (that's embarassing) or paint to match tops, remove two doors from the unlimited or rename it a cherokee, shorten the wheelbase, narrow the wheelbase, flatten the windshield, lower the seats in the body by an inch...and what the heck why not add a third wiper.

None of this will happen but its a wishlist.
