What is the one thing you know now...

What is the one thing you know now that you wish you knew when you first got your Jeep?

I'm new to Jeeps and I'm sure I will make my share of mistakes but why not learn from others, right?

I wish I knew more about tire sizes and gearing. I bought my Wrangler new about 1-1/2 weeks ago. It came with a 4" lift and LT295/70R18 tires and stock 3.21 gearing. Took it off road 2 days after buying it. Seems to struggle some on steep inclines and 6th gear is almost nonexistent on the highway.

Before I bought a Jeep...I thought Wranglers were cool and fun and had to have one. After having one...it is now an Obsession!

Take your time and research before doing any mods. Own it for 1 year and let it tell you what it needs.

Tires and gears are the 2 biggest influences on your "performance" on road and off.

Key to the question is what will you do with your Jeep? How much off road? how much highway? will it be lifted? does it need to do 75mph on the Highway consistently? for a couple hour trip?

Once you figure this portion out the mistake of, wrong gears, or wrong tires, or too much lift, or poor gas mileage....you will know and figure out before you make the mistake of buying the "wrong Jeep" for you...just my .02

How the 4cyl is sluggish and they rust out at the drivers side floor board and take a magnet to check for body filler.

I didn't know the Carter BBD on the 4.2L was a crappy computerized carb which could not be swapped out for any other carb in California.
