what is this?

So i just bought a 95 sahara, already modified, and im not sure what this is. I think it has something to do with the 4wd, but im not sure. Any help would be appreciated

Yeah, ive followed it to the front axle, but i dont know what it does

its a front axle disconnect

Ok, thanks! So if its pushed in, does that mean the axle is disconected?

I would have said it was a "self-destruct button" and never push it.

yes, basically it is a mechanical linkage that replaces the OEM vacuum actuator, which would dry-rot and fail over time, and you wouldn't know it until you needed it...
