What is this part???

Greetings! New member who has already benefitted from the great knowledge base here. Thanks!

Even as a newbie I have a question. I was tearing apart the dash to swap out the head unit and found a plug in for something on top of the dash above where the glove box is (picture attached, I hope). Can anyone clue me in as to the purpose? Thanks in advance.

I apologize but as you can see it is upside down.

My educated guess? A harness for an option your Jeep doesn't have. They don't make harnesses specific to every option combination you could have on a Jeep, they just don't use the parts that you don't have.

Thank you, my assumption as well. Hopefully someone will know what it is, not really critical, just curious. Thanks again.
