What Jeep Is This?

When I was stationed in Hawaii in the U.S.A.F. we had one of these that we used to haul around flightline equpiment. It didn't have the rear ballast weight that it's Dodge Ram counter parts did, so occasionnaly would skid when pulling heaver things and trying to stop/turn. The Automatic Transmition was messed up and somehow 2nd and 3rd gear were so close to gether that when driveing it would ride out 1st gear really long, then shift to 3rd with a Jerk. That Jerk earned that Jeep the nickname "Whiplash" Sometimes the bolts holding the back wheels on would start to back out and we would have to screw them back in.

"Whiplash" was the first Jeep I ever drove!

So what kind of Jeep is this? I would guess some kind of "CJ" ?

We had the Rams too. And I think one Ford F250 built up like that.

The rams were my favs with that Cumming Turbo Deisl in them. Got one up to about 30 - 35 miles per hour once just to see how fast it could go.

Those rams cuold turn in a dime, they had next to 1' turning radious. The ford and the Jeep couldn't outturn those rams.

But I was just curious what that ole "whiplash" jeep was. Thanks
