what kind of gas milage are you getting

I switched my jeep truck over to a mixture of hydrogen and gas due to the cost of fuel. I fixed what was wrong with the little 2.5 and installed the unit. I am getting better gas milage than the hybrids. I am wondering what the adverage milage is on a newer 2.5. I am going to swamp a five speed into the little jeep that wont die and go from there.

You already know this Penguin, but I will tell you anyway. My Rubicon gets 16-16.5 no matter what I or anyone else does. Doesn't matter if I drive on the highway only for 10 tanks, or if I am driving like an azz in the city 16-16.5. Summer I may get closer to 17, but it's not common.

As for your little 2.5, I hate you. I hated you before when you would get Honda Civic mileage out of it, but when you called and said what your getting know.... I hope you break the frame on this thing like your K5.. LOL

Oh, well, he prolly has 1/2 of the chevy blocks in the entire british empire.

Shoulda hung a rolls royce in there...would have made familiar noise for the locals!

Pumping petrol over there has to hurt!

Last I heard it's $2.80ish on base there for gas.

To stay on topic...

99 4.0, I get....umm.....????? Sorry I have never checked the gas milage on my jeep. Never really bothered with it."or maybe didn't really want to know"

If I had to guess, it's around 14-15mpg's.

Acutally there are many SBC engines over here and they sell for a bit more too. The brits love em. There is a british guy on base who said he could sell my 350 for £2000 easily. He is currently looking for a Cummins 4BT for me. He said that if he gets one he'll trade straight across for it.

Petrol isn't bad here on base. Off base is another story. I filled up the golf on base yesterday for $2.52 per gallon which gets about 40mpg on the highway and 30ish city.

I'm getting around 8-9 around town... However, I did not change the tranny gear but I do not forsee that figure getting much better.

Penguin, you never even answered your own question fool

From what I remember of his bragging phone call, he used go get like low 30s out of his 2.5 2wd Comanche, than the engine starting having issues and it dropped to high/mid 20s. Keep in mine, his engine has over 200,000 miles, I think its in the 300,000s now. Anyway, he fixed the manifold and a few things, and was back in the 30s. Than he did his stupid hydrogen conversion (Stills runs with gasoline mixed) and has MORE power, and gets over 55-60mpg

What I want to know though, is how much this hydrogen costs, or if the kit makes it out of water for free etc., how much gasoline it still burns and what not. In other words, how much does it cost to run it 10 miles with the conversion (including the cost of conversion, even though you said it only cost $70 or w/e) and how much it cost before on straight gasoline for 10 miles.

its not just making the hydrogen out of water. I had a few more expensises then just building the unit. I have to run the water through a purifier and I have to add baking soda to the solution. I am not quite getting the 50 I thought but I am turning 47 miles to the gallon on this system and have only had to fill the unit once. Add jsc I have 318,000 on my odometer thank you sir

My average since I've bought my Jeep is about 18.5, but I do mostly highway and almost no city or slow stop-and-go driving.
