What temp do you stop taking your top down?

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I go to work at 6PM and its been beautiful out this last week, 70-75 and not a cloud in the sky; however, when I get off work the next morning its around 50 degrees and the sun is not even close to coming up, so I usually just leave my top up. At what temperature do you guys and gals stop taking the top down for the fall/winter???

My top/doors have been off (ORH soft top...no down, just off or on) since April. We were really dry most of this summer, so I've just left em off. I'll put the top back on when we get into the 50's consistently, though I might put the two bikini panels on before then...

I had my top and no doors off when it was around 50 coming home from a friends house. I just had a hoodie on and blasted the heat and I was toasty

I've been topless-doorless since early May. Had a couple days last week in the upper 40's in the morning, so I wore gloves, a hat, and some sweatpants over my shorts and was fine. I was used to riding my bike down to the upper 20's low 30's, so the cold in the morning doesn't bother me if the afternoon ride home is going to be nice. Hoping to keep the top off at least into if not thru Oct.

Last Sunday spent a beautiful day at the MD Renaissance Festival. Going home at night with the 60mph wind blowing up my kilt told me it was time to put the top on til spring.

I figure I will leave my top off until is in the 50's.......I am pretty new to jeeping BUT as soon as got my jeep home the top and doors came off......I don't drive it everyday BUT the times I have drove it to work in the mornings it has been in the mid to lower 60's and it was ok if I had a jacket on.

I sound like less of a man, thanks to you guys. Lol... I've had my top down for majority of the summer, except when rain's in the forecast, but as soon as it hit 50 everything went back on. Sounds like I need to man up!

if it is 50 it cold! plus with the wind whipping around it will seem about 10 degrees colder IMO.....I always used that when I rode my motorcycle....whatever the temp was I would subtract 10. I just weigh what temp will be when I am off work to see if it will be worth a cold trip in the morning.

I have to leave for work around 3.30 a.m and here it's been high 40's. Way too cold for me except I wasn't properly dressed. I want to do it in the snow at least once

Im bew to the jeep world but in my part of Washington it is starting to get cold in the evening and mornings it has been in the 40s. I leave my top on but is also because it takes two people to remove it i just take off the top half of my doors. I have a hard top and hard doors.

I have had mine down in 40* to 45*. That was a cold ride on the trail. Usually, it is rain or a long drive that makes me put it up.

At 50 degrees, even going 20MPH makes it feel like its 32degrees which is freezing temp. On a motorcycle, my fingers would be numb and frozen after a 15min ride.

But the jeep with heat on full blast is luxurious compared to riding a bike. I'm more concerned with any rain than the wind

Safari top goes on in summer, and stays on. I run that top with nothing else all summer.
I use the factory soft top during the spring and fall because its easy to put up and down, and its not sooo hot that the sun will beat down on me like in the summer.
This 70/50's weather is perfect. In the cool mornings I have the top down with just the soft upper doors to cut some wind.

Everything will get bundled up for good probably in November.

When my nipples are hard enough to bust out the windshield...
We got frost in the mornings now so the hard top is back on and ready for winter.

It varies ... after the winter its really tough not to pop the top off at the first sign of decent weather. I do hard top from almost always Thanksgiving weekend till March. Beyond that I go with no top or soft top.

Its like riding a motorcycle, just dress for the temp and the smile will stay on your face. Or your family complains enough and wont ride with you anymore. (I keep a blanket and some sweat shirts under the seat)

60 for a high, less than that the top stays up. My wife wouldnt allow it, especially with our 4 month old in the back. Hard top is going on next weekend.

A good windjammer, like Bestop's,really helps in cooler weather, but only for the front seats . I read that General Patton rode in an open jeep in the snow to inspire his troops. What a guy!

I got my jeep in october and I took my top off in January when it was 27 degrees out. I just wanted to see what would happen of I went top down. I live in pa so it was not fun to do but driving in the cold was so much fun. I'll take my top off now if it's above 45 and sunny

Wow - old thread. Anyway, the top stays on if the temp is less than 70*F or more than 75*F or if the forecast calls for rain within the next 10 days.

I think we had it off for 3 days last year.
