What is a snatch block, and how does it work? I'm just starting to get my equipment. I know when I was a kid living in the country we carried a couple road flares in case a fire had to be started real fast for warmth if we were out for snowmobilers or hikers. Cars and heaters were not always in the area.

Snatch Block Basics

To sum it up....doubles the pulling power of your winch (also cuts the line speed in half). Also used to do indirect pulls or redirect say off a tree. If you cant winch straight forward you can use the snatch block to redirect the line.

Well I was thinking about the hitch mount with a 4 point harness so you dont have to stop if someone has to go.

My recovery kit is pretty basic. Flat head and phillips head screwdriver. Tow strap, pliers, vice grips, gloves, D-rings, basic socket wrench set, deep socket and standard, 2lb. sledge hammer, electrical tape and duct tape, blue lock tight, torx bits, spare U-joints, spare rear drive shaft and soon, spare axles for both front and rear.

-Few Lighters

-Spare valve stem valves
(I also have my Hi-lift with base, several LED work lights, fire estinguisher, air compressor, machette, tool box, and Superwinch... )

Also thinking on carrying some power tools once I install my 2100 watt power inverter. And I also have my old EMT jump bag but it is huge so I am thinking about down sizing to something smaller and a bit more prectical.

Is the beer part of the kit or did you just have to set it down to take the pic? Or both?

My winch
A tow strap
A couple cables to secure stuff to the roll cage
Heavy duty jumpers
Hi vis vest
Ratchet set
Lashing straps
Carharts in winter
Fire extinguisher
2x8 board
Two road triangles
Propane torch
Hacksaw
Power inverter
Bunch of screwdrivers
Rope
Mechanic gloves
Emergency top for my jeep
Cb radio
Breaker bar
Quiksteel ( I used it to fix a dime sized hole in a heavy duty bus radiator and it ran 4000 in mountains at normal operating temp.)
Riveter
Tire gauge
Silicone
Zip ties
Cordless Power drill
Vice grips ( two large two small)
Duct tape ( I try to avoid using it though)
Two ratchet straps
I carry a ball hitch sometimes too. But normally it says in the xk ( tow vehicle)
I think that about sums it up.

Where is all the emergency medical supplies? I carry a full jump kit, there's stuff in there if I'm using it I'm getting whoever is hurt to life flight asap.... but it is suprising how many people get hurt out on trails they see the star of life sticker and automatically come see me. I would reccomend putting at the very least a first aid kit in there. Even though first aid kits are more for scrapes and bruises.

Oh I totally forgot my medical supplies. I carry an extensive kit with everything from bandaids to a tourniquet. I can't afford an AED lol but I am cert to use it . I'm not old enough to get an emt cert but am basically trained enough to be. I've taken first aid/ CPR/ aed classes every year for five years.
