wheel swap

My wifes grand cherokee has 16" wheels and we want to change them to an aftermarket 15" wheel. Is this gonna cause any problems as long as I get tires that fit within the original height so that there is no fender rub.

thanks

andy

nope, it will be perfectly fine if you get the same sizes tires (with inside dimensions 15", not 16")

but make sure to get the same amount of backspacing as the ones she has now!!!

Well what year GrandCherokee is it? The 1999+ need 16" wheels to clear calipers.

I stand corrected, you can use 15" wheels... just need the right bolt pattern:

93-98 - 5x4.5
99-04 - 5x5

its a 96.
I have been looking and most everything I have seen is a 5 on 4.5 but I thought they were a 5 on 5 bolt pattern.
How do you figure back space? Is that the depth from the lug holes out to the rims outter edge?

Other way around...the space from the wheel mounting surface to the inner edge. They should also be the 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern.
