Wheel/Tire Issue, Advise Needed

Got 33" x 12.5 TrxUs M/Ts mounted on cheaper Cragar rims. I was noticing some shake when i hit 45-50mph in the steering wheel. Went and had it aligned and to check the balance on the wheels. He said they are pretty far out of balance calling for almost 18oz which is way more then normal. He said the rims might not be true, or the tires. But they are fairly new.

Is this common based on the size of the tire to appear to be 'out' more than a car tire which is small and less to spin?

He suggested a sand substance that will balance them? Anyone have experience with this?

Or I was thinking of just selling them to someone who needs a mudding/crawling set and less for driving? What would be a fair price to ask for a set of 5, that are still in great condition (minus the balancing issue)?

Need some advise....

Thanks

Check the torque on your lugs. Causes lots of steering wheel shake at certain speeds if they aren't properly torqued. 95-100 lbs done in a star pattern.

I had the exact same tires on my Land Rover Discovery. They were good at first, but after they got older they shook my steering wheel at highway speeds. They had a ton of weights on them too. Got cupped out bad and could'nt be balanced. Then again, I didn't get them rotated like I should have. I sold the whole set for $40 for somebody to mud with.

Yep, 40 bucks. Trust me they were cupped bad and had little tread left. The spare was worth more. I just wanted rid of 'em. Depends how much tread you have on them.

I have probably 70% tred left on the 4 road tires, and the spare is 100%. Any guess on how much I could get out of them?
