wheelin' areas?

Hi All,

Being re-stationed in the Chicago area in early Feb., and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any winter wheeling wonderland spots up there. Or maybe a few guys who might want to hook up for a trail ride? I'm originally from the west coast. Used to live around the high desert near jawbone canyon, johnson valley area. So I'm looking forward to heading back North where there's at least some rocks and hills. It's been too flat for and my wife here in Ga. Or maybe some people who'd just like to sit around and shoot the S*!t about wheeling or the outdoors?
If there's a will, usually there's a way, but then you get to that bolt that you still can't get to with two extensions, two universal sockets, and a contorsionist midget trying to help you.

1999 XJ Four door, mostly stock for now, but I am in the process of building a custom plate bumper.

I know that a lot of clubs in the Chicago area make runs to the Badlands in Attica, IN as well as to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in the Muskegon, MI area. I am sure there are a few local clubs in the Chicago area, and that would be the best way to figure out where the wheelin' is!

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!

Just Taggin on

Just wondering on the premise of wheeling around you, ive found it hard pressed to find trails outside of my town, i am in school in downeast maine and got some help with some locals and some other students but at home its just the same group of guys going and beating on our rigs in pits and backyards of neighbors, the parents dont like us gettin escorted home, i guess that is what happens when complete bored and draught of events happen. just lookin for some wheelin spots in maine if anyone knows any, with all this warm weather i cant stand jsut driving on the road even though it is january it feels like march.
