im looking for cheap or decently priced wheel spacers. now my question is, im looking for 1" or 1.25" spacers, should i get the ones that are just acual spacers or the adapter ones ? any ideas on where to find cheap ones also?

I've never priced out, nor compared wheel spacers, so this is a purely hypothetical comment: That's a really bad place to try and save a few bucks.

It is my understanding that wheel spacers are not the safest things to use. I was going to get some and several people talked me out of them.

If you so use em check and recheck and recheck and recheck the lugs I would highly advise you to save up and buy deeper dished rims

IF you decide to get them you want spacers, not adapters. Adapters allow you to use a different bolt pattern than the one on your vehicle. Spacers just alter the backspacing. As mentioned above, you must check the torque on them (spacers and wheels) religiously (monthly). Don't cheap out on them. Lots of folks sell quality (spidertrax) spacers all the time when they upgrade to new wheels, so keep an eye on the for sale section and CL etc, and you'll find some. But, cheap steel wheels only run about $100 more than spacers, you can do wheels and be done....
