I am 52 and I have had a Postal Jeep (yep, with the sliding doors), One CJ-5, Two CJ-7's, One awesome Scrambler CJ-8, Two Suzuki Samurai's, and currently have a '93 Wrangler.
...You're never too old. And the times I didn't have a Jeep... well, I was just 'between Jeeps' at the time.

Bah. Got my first jeep at 18 (cherry red '79, damn I loved that) and now at 43 bought a 2012. Sure they are fun when young but I'm enjoying mine now so much more because I actually have the money to upgrade it the way I want!

Haha I was waiting for that response. I have waited 14 years for it (since my last one)! It's not going anywhere.

Got my first (and only so far) Jeep at age 41. I feel 40 is a great age for a Jeeper, actually much more practical than a teenage or twenty something Jeep owner. I feel us older folks appreciate what we have more than the young ins. Every time I read a thread saying "my Jeep is smooth at 80 mph", I think that must be a young driver. I've had my TJ for two years now and have yet to even hit 70, not even once. I enjoy my Jeep and treat it like a cruiser, not a banshee, heck even on the trails I see kids spinning and thrashing about up a hill and I just creep up it a 3mph with a big ol grin on my face, they are like "how'd you do that?". Hah, hah slow down my young friends.

I'm 40 and just getting my third. First born moved out jeep moved in. The last jeep left home about 8 years ago so it really was time. I'll second 40 is a better age for jeep mods. Have a few extra dollars today than I did when the first one followed me home (47 Willys) when I was 18. Miss that first love for sure.

Hey all. I'm a newbee to the forum. 44 and just bought an 04 rubicon.

We had an old Willys too; I drove it to school when I was a teen. I have some very cold memories of defrosting the window with my glove. The heater was poor to say the least, and the wind whipped in the cracks, but it beat he heck out of walking or hitching a ride with others.

My teen boy showed some interest and I got bit by the JEEP bug. I bought a standard to teach all my kids how to drive a stick. Took most of the top off 2 days ago. Man it felt good.

I want to thank all who contribute to the forum. I have learned a ton about my 04 in a short time reading the topics. Mostly maintence, very good info. I'll be showing my 15 year old how to change oil for the first time this weekend. Got soft driving a company vehicle and haven't had to do my own for quite a while.

Seems to me your 40's are a great time to own a Jeep.... Best convertible out there.

Oh how spoiled you were to have a top on your willys. I grew up in southern Idaho. There isn't enough layers to keep you from freezing in a jeep during the winter.

52 and bought my 2nd Jeep: 04 TJ Rubicon a year ago, love it. 1st one was a 67 CJ5 w/v6 back in the early 80's. Perfect vehicle to flat tow behind the motor home for transportation for vacations, and hit up 4 wheel off road events.

Bought my first in August 2012. Should have done this 40 years ago when in my 20's!
