why are so many youngster a. holes these days

I was at a Sonic tonight minding my own business when this young kid in a TJ pulls up next to my 2010 JK. He keeps staring at me like he's never seen a Jeep before, so I stared back at him. Next thing I notice he's looking at my wheels and then starts staring at my bumper. He was acting like such a dork that I turned on my lights and shined the high beams in his face.

Hahaha, this reminds me of a time last summer when I was sitting in White Castle and some guy walks over to my Jeep and looks all around it while smoking his cigarette. After he is done with his cigarette, he walks over to his stock Suzuki Grand Vitara where his wife is waiting for him, and he leaves. LOL poor guy.

Why is he an ahole for admiring your Jeep? Sounds more like you were the ahole for shining your brights at him.

It might have been a perfect opportunity to strike up a conversation. He may have been wondering what was different on the JK than on the TJ. May have been admiring your wheels.

Maybe you could have tried one of those infamous "Jeep waves"

I hate to be mean, but it does kind of sound like you were the one who was being a stink pot.

I have people all the time come and look my rig up one side and down the other. We call it sniffin tailpipes. It always ends in a great conversation. Especially when it's a guy and they start talking to OBM about how nice "his Jeep" is and he tells them that it's mine

There was a guy at a gas station just a couple of weeks ago who pulled in behind us. I jumped out of the Jeep and ran inside for a minute and OBM stepped out to pump the fuel for me. The guy walked around it looking it up and down and then went up to OBM and said "I knew there had to be a man associated with this Jeep somewhere when I saw a gal climb out of the driver seat"
OBM walked him around to the back and pointed at my little decal that says "this is not... my husband's vehicle" and said "Oh it's HER Jeep, I assure you!"

The guy literally scratched his head. He was flabbergasted.

Of course, My Jeep wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun or as well built as it is if it weren't for my OBM and I make sure he gets credit where credit is due.

Point being, anytime someone shows an interest, it's always an opportunity to meet another Jeeper!

This sounds kinda like a lost oppurtunity to have a good jeep talk to me.

But as to the question in the thread title, it has been asked by every generation since the first.

If I remember the post, he said he was checking out your pieces / parts, window shoppping and that the butthole was the owner of the jeep he was looking at. Maybe, being yooung he did not know what to say to the older " mature" jeep owner. Something to think about!

I could be wrong here but I think daggo66 was just making a spoof about another thread that was posted. I don't believe this actually happened to him. Maybe he will chime in and explain.

I believe this is the thread he was spoofing about.
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's what this is all about.

I've not run into anyone being shy about it yet. Jeep people are not generally shy. Even the gals that have them just as grocery getters LOVE their Jeeps and love to talk about them.

How about "Nice Jeep" or "How do you like the JK?" maybe even "How do you like those wheels?" "Where do you go wheelin?" "Looks like you've done a few mods, whatcha got on it?"
