My Jeep is my new love, but doesn't replace the old one.

I needed something that I could tow behind the motorhome. I used to tow my "baby" that was my 1st car that I ever purchased at 16 years old...she is now totaled due to a drunk slamming into her while being towed behind the motorhome. While I am not going to let her die...I am going to fix her and she will live again...I was so broken-hearted over my pristine 92 Nissan NX 1600 being wrecked that I needed something to cheer me up. I fall more in love with my Jeep everyday. Fun to drive, easy to tow, lots of stares, Jeep waves...who cares about MPG...drive them enough and that fact is insignificant.

Vega= fib-funny. Had one back when, missed it, bought another. I also got it to tow behind my motorhome for transpo and fun at off road trips, rock crawling, dirt & dunes (what it made for) having a blast with it. I think its a keeper. Should have got one sooner.

I bought my jeep because my 01 TJ was rusted to hell, I mean rotting in the frame, the body, etc. I found an 08 rubi for a great price so i went with it....Quickly.

To consolidate, I need a plow for the winter time and I love a convertible in the summer so, I'm turning my Durango and Jeepster into a Wrangler.

Because im too old for a sports car, someone who owns a house needs a utility vehicle, and I don't like trucks... Jeep JK fit this perfectly.

I bought an LJ bc I was tired of driving a luxury suv that was loaded to the gill, drove super smooth, had room for 5 adults comfortably and could tow my 21' wakeboard boat with ease. It also went offroading a few times and never struggled.

Joking aside, I was due for a new vehicle after putting 142k miles on said suv and decided I didnt need the premium ride and living in FL...why not get a jeep since I sold the boat.

how many miles does your baby have on her between driving and towing?

I was court ordered to sell my 11 second Camaro due to getting caught street racing a unmarked cop with a mustang cobra. So I sold that and picked up a 98 TJ

It was not my first offense, and it had a choice sell the car or lose my license I chose to part with the car since I needed my Dl for work. I was harassed a bunch in that car also. Every time I drove it I was pulled over even if I did the speed limit. I had both of my parents drive it to work for a day and they were both pulled over and told your not the right person so it was police harassment also

My cousin had a similar experience with his first truck. He worked and built it all through high school and had it done for maybe a year and during thats time he got in all sorts of trouble. Out running the cops, reckless driving, and racing tickets. The final straw was when he was running from them and cut through a pepsi distribution place. He tore through fences on both sides of the plant, popped out the other side and dropped down in a dry irrigation canal that runs to their farm and headed home, in the canal...lol Needless to say they already knew who it was and showed up in the morning and hauled him to jail. He really didnt want to get rid of the truck so he "sold" it to our uncle and it just sits on the farm and has for probably 15 years. Sad deal. He just let it sit out there and rot instead of selling it to someone who could have lost their license with it too...

With a proper snorkel, who needs a boat?

I decided that if I was going to work hard long hours and weekends until I couldn't walk upright anymore that I was going to drive to and from work with a huge smile on my face.

And, after buying my beloved Jeep, I'd work even harder and longer to make the money I'd need to make it the kind of Jeep that makes me smile even bigger!

Then, I figured, I would find a way to NOT work all weekend long so that I could wheel that Jeep hard and break some stuff and work on IT on the weekends, instead of workin' for the MAN!

It's definitely a balancing act...

We got ours because I got tired of pushing my wife's stuck car out of the snow. It wouldn't take much for those speed rated tires to be stuck. And they don't put tow hooks on those sporty cars. She drives the Jeep in the winter and I enjoy it all summer with the top and doors off. Her baby is now tucked away in the shed and she's back driving the Jeep. It's a little cramped in there for my tastes with the hardtop and doors on.

We bought our '87 when we moved to Oregon - we needed something to move around our acreage cutting trees for firewood and we felt more country-like with a Jeep, hey! what can I say, we were California refugees from suburbia at the time lol...

Bought the '97 Cherokee because we liked our jeep and I needed the room for my farmers market tent and a used one presented itself to me. At the time I had a '92 'vette and it wouldn't fit my tent obviously, so we sold that off.

Bought the '14 JKU because by now we're a Jeep family and my Cherokee lost in a mishap with a buck and I didn't want to take the YJ to work every day. We like the boxy looks instead of the standard rounded all-cars-sorta-look-the-same, we like we can take the tops, doors off and take to the forest service roads in our area up near the Pacific crest Trail and Mt. Ashland .

I grew up camping every summer and love the outdoors . My first real 4 wheel trip was driving with a buddy from so. cal. to Alaska in 1975 . 1700 miles of dirt road back then . I actually bought my 2008 JKUR in 07 on a whim . Driving by the dealership and saw it and just bought it . Went 4 wheeling every weekend for about 2 years .Found out that me and the wife could get away from everything and everybody in it and really started to camp alot . Ended up selling our house and quiting my job to move to Reno to be close to the Rubicon and alot of other trails . bought another house , got a job , we go 4 wheeling all the time . Last summer we camped every 3 weekends all summer long and wheeled the crap out of everyday . Love to explore new areas , enjoy going out with like minded people and some times we wheel so long , we are gone for 12 to 14 hours a day !We changed our job and moved out of state just so we can enjoy a life style , it was well worth it !

I thought I wanted a used 2-seater sports car, but when I started to drive them I realized it wasn't me. I didn't like the way people looked at me and I didn't like how small I felt on the road. Then I realized I could get a 2-door JK with stick, pull the back seat out and walla, 2 seater with a removable top, huge trunk, and respect on the road. Plus I can take it off the road, into the snow, or on the beach. In addition, I remember how sports car drivers used to wave to each other [in the 60's] and every day a fellow Jeeper waves.... how cool is that?

Lookin for a toy. It would be used in places where I ride a dual sport motorcycle or drive a UTV. I'd get rid of them & use the Jeep.... and might drive it to work occasionally.
Based on my previous experiences with Jeeps, and many of your comments, I can't imagine using it as a DD, especially in the winter. But I'll pull it out on the weekends & go wheelin in the snow all day long!

Always liked off road toys, been into rzr's but they are to much upkeep. They spend way to much time in the shop being wrenched on, plus I can drive my rubicon on the street. Do not have to trailer it everywhere.
