Exclamation Why it is IMPORTANT to register w/Chrysler as an owner.

I recently bought my second used Jeep,from a private owner, this one a '97 TJ. While browsing Jeep's website I registered as an owner and submitted my VIN #., as requested. Within a short while I was notified that there was a recall on my fuel tank sending unit. Today I contacted Milford Jeep, in Milford PA. Spoke w/the service Manager and he hooked me up w/an appt. for Monday.

It will be repaired for no charge. Great service Milford Jeep! Thanks Ryan for your help. Chef Ray

Or you could look for recalls yourself;

Search for a Recall | Safercar.gov | NHTSA

97 Wranglers have 7 listed.

I have done this, now that I know there is the other option I need to get my Jeep and PT GT registered since they are both second hand buys..

I just registered, and my VIN information was already uploaded! It connected me to my Jeep and listed the date of delivery too! NICE!!

I'm not a huge dealership fan but they did send me a ton of coupons when I registered my 95 YJ ... I did use one for an oil change for I think $20? Plus they did a bunch of checks for free, gave me a good start of what needed to be dug in to.
