So sad for her, but maybe she is happier?

Ive only gotten to page 10 of this thread so far. I have to say to Bangingears that you are brave and I believe you 100% along with everyone else who has ever shared "odd" experiences. I am also impressed this far by the open mindedness of this forum. Ive seen similar threads on other forums and some people are just plain closed minded jerks.

I have a few experiences to share. Some I have already posted in other forums so I can C&P. Others I will have to write and post... I REALLY like this thread!!!

A few years ago my wife and I were out jeeping around and I pulled over to pee. Walked over the berm by the road and there was a cabin with a few out buildings and old cars. It was fall so the driveway was covered with leaves and I could tell no one had been in or out for a while. So I started peeing while admiring this cool place in the middle of nowhere. About half way through relieving myself I realized there was a guy sitting in one of the cars watching me. Then I realized there was a person leaning out of one of the out buildings looking at me and a woman standing in the front window of the cabin. While flipping and zipping I spotted a few people hanging in trees here and there and realized the first guy I seen in the car was wearing sunglasses in the rain in a fully shaded area... They were manicans, but by the time I figured that out I was already freaked out and jogging back to the jeep. Still gives me the willys when I think about it.lol

Ive also been in a couple houses that gave me the willys as soon as I walked in them. Later while cleaning them out we found pentagrams and weird dolls hanging from neuces and other markings that I dont know what they are called.

Me and my cousins were paintballing in the woods one time and while evading fire I ran and dove in a cat trap that seemed to be great cover except I landed in a pile of rotting deer guts and skins and bones. Not just one deers worth either. It must have been where a poachers dump spot was or something.

My wife and I were jeeping another time south of the Hills Creek area on switch backs and trails quite a ways out. Crawling in 4lo for the most part. Steep country. So steep that when I came up on a spot where elk had just crossed and tore up the trail I got out to investigate and could smell them but couldnt see them cause they had dropped off the mountain and disappeared out of sight.

Anyway while I was trying to spot the herd I started hearing a noise/call that I had never heard before and never heard again after that day. It was a reasonably high pitched WOOOOoooooWEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I know this reads really stupid...lol. Bare with me here.... So this sound was not real close but was interesting to me so I just hung out for a while looking for elk and hearing this call thing get a little closer and a little closer. Finally it creeped me out and I started up the trail again.

Now keep in mind I have my wife with me and am on switch backs that if I lose control I will kill my wife and my jeep. The fastest I went was maybe 10mph but mostly 3-5mph. So we travel till we come up on rocks and stuff that seem freshly rolled down the hill onto the road. So when I get out to move a few of these basket ball sized rocks to the side I hear it again. WOOOOoooooWEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Like it wanted me to know it was there. Im not talking like a bird call. I was thinking it was a person the first time I heard it. The second location I heard it it could have still been a person but they would have had to be in great shape to out run me in my jeep in that terrain and have time to roll and throw all these rocks and stuff onto the road.

The 3rd time was about the same time span. 15-20 minutes and then we came up on more crap that was rolled and thrown onto the road. Freshly done where you could easily see the difference in the moisture content in the disturbed dirt. Mostly big rocks but there were some partially rotted logs and some big broken limbs thrown in the piles and a few stumps and root wads. Along with WOOOOoooooWEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. My wife never heard the calls. She usually stays in the Jeep with the heater when its cold out. I never told her about them either. Its hard enough to get her to go on rides with me. She did keep saying “that’s so weird, what could do that?” Every time we pulled up to a pile of debris. Then when we would drive over the stuff I didn’t need to move to get past she would say “ It looks like it just happened, that’s so weird”…lol. I still havent told her what I think happened that day.

This continued for about 2 hours till we got back on an actual well traveled gravel road. We were about 45 minutes to an hour from a well traveled road when it started. After the 3rd time I didnt get out of the jeep without my 12 gauge. I saw 5 deer that day. All nice bucks and I never went back to that area. What ever was playing with me that day wanted me to know it was there and I wasnt wanted there I think....It also knew if it got too close it would get a taste of buckshot. Ive had a cougar stalk me and scream at me so close that I felt its breath on my neck and THAT didnt give me the heeby jeebies like the WOOOOoooooWEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Experience...

The only attempt at an explanation anyone offered was my wise a$$ cousin and of course he said Big Foot. I had to agree with him. We grew up in the woods. My Grandpa and Uncle were loggers and my Dad and other Uncle were log truck drivers. So not only Hunting, fishing, and sitting around the fire listening to old timers but working in the woods too. I still live in the woods. If its out there Ive probably seen it or at least heard enough about it to come dang close to identifying it. I laugh at my self every time I think of or tell this experience but that’s how it happened…

After this I did some reading and investigating of my own. All online except for a trip to the Boise Zoo. A lot of my experience that day was similar to other Bigfoot tales out there except the call I heard seemed to be a little different than any recordings or descriptions I found. I found a lot of sounds that resembled coyotes and a few that did not. Some of the recordings sounded a lot like half of the calls I heard. Instead of WOOOOooooooWEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee. The recordings would just be WOOOOOoooooo or WEEEEEeeeeeeeee The smell I had associated with the elk sign I saw that day wasn’t exactly like elk I’d smelt before. However it did smell exactly like the primate exhibit at the zoo…

At an Offroad park near Laurel IN. saw two dudes having sex....rump rangers. They need a drug to burn out certain memories, alcohol doesn't work.

Tonight was my first night working nights. I drive a truck in the North Dakota oil fields. I was thinking to my self about ghosts and big foot when in the fog I saw some legs an a body. I have been up about 22 hours by that time and I thought I lost my mind. While I'm staring at this "ghost" something runs in front of my truck. Scared the hell out of me. Well it just happened to be a good sized whitetail and friend.

Also I just read this blog post. The blogger asked "what is the creepiest thing your kid has said to you?" These are some of the responses.
There is some creepy stuff!

1. My 4-year-old shook me awake one night and asked if she could sleep with me because tonight the old woman at the window was being mean for some reason.

2. “Mommy, there’s a kid covered in blood in my bedroom and he won’t go away.”

3. My daughter when we were home alone one night, “Mommy, who’s that man on the ceiling?”

4. My kids ( ages 5, 4, & 3) are constantly talking about the “bloody girls” in their rooms. They each go into detail about them. Their names… their clothes, what they talk about. It started when my oldest had just turned three. He said that they had been in a small green car, that fell in the water. The water turned red and their mommy and daddy were really sad. He said they liked their rooms because they have fun toys.

5. My son (three at the time) threw a huge tantrum when we were trying to leave the house because he “didn’t want to crash and die”. After about 10 minutes he just stopped and was ready to go. As we were walking out of the house there was a very bad accident on the street in front of our house – right where we would have been driving if he hadn’t thrown his fit.

6. “The shadow man keeps talking to me at my window.”

7. I was reading a story to my daughter when she suddenly slammed it shut, point to the empty doorway, and screamed “You get out of here! You’ve killed enough people!”

8. My two-year-old talks and walks in his sleep. About a month after his second birthday I heard him talking in his sleep in the middle of the night so I thought aww cute I will go listen. Peeked in and he was sitting bolt upright in bed eyes wide open hands folded in lap. He said, “Naughty mummy. Naughty daddy. No more mummy, no more daddy.” Then he laughed really creepily lay down and started snoring.

9. After finding a dead baby bird in the driveway from a nest up above, my 4-year-old told me he knows where to bury it so it will come back alive.

10. “Daddy, when can we get rid of that kid hanging in my closet?” I asked her what she was talking about and she told me all about a teenage boy who was hanging by a belt around his neck in her closet. I went to her closet there was nothing there, and she said he only is there when I’m not around.

11. My son was crying in bed at 3AM and tells us he is afraid because there is a man in his bed. We ask him about the man and tell him to ask the man to go away. The following day he tells us the man’s name is Frank… my husband’s uncle who died the night before. Also later that week we were driving along in our van in complete silence and my son said “Frank’s here.”

12. “There are three dead kids buried in our back yard. They told me where we can find them.”

13. My brother was giving all the kids candy. One of my daughter’s friends was over and my brother asked her, “You want some candy little girl?” She said, “You’re supposed to be behind a bush when you say that.”

14. My 5-year-old handed me a rock and said, “You can use this for your grave.”

15. My son, Mason, told my fiancé he was going to cut his heart out and eat it… He’s three.

16. When my son was three he told me that he really likes his new daddy, he’s really nice. My husband is his one and only daddy. I asked “Why is that?” He replied “My old daddy was really mean. He stabbed me in the back and I died. But I really like my new daddy, he’d never do that to me.”

17. My daughter had an imaginary friend named Sally, she told me once about how Sally was in jail for chopping her mom’s head off….

18. An 8-year-old I used to teach had a hard time with eye contact and appropriate touch. He looked me straight in the eyes one morning, not missing a beat, and told me, “You know, I think you’d look a lot better if you were dead in my basement.”

19. As she pointed to the old wood stove in the middle of our front room, my daughter said: “Jimmy said that was where he did it.” I asked her who Jimmy was and what he was talking about, she said “Jimmy is the guy who comes and talks to me at night. He said he killed his mom right there.” My daughter was five.

20. My six-year-old was crying in her bedroom. It took lots of asking and she finally told me that a strange man had shown up and told her that I would be dead before midnight.

21. “Mom, why is that lady from the cemetery sitting in my room?”

22. A friends daughter (3 years old at the time) told my friend in a very quiet voice: ”I will put a towel over your face and send you to live with Jesus!”

23. “Aren’t you gonna say hi to Uncle Chris?” By my 3-year-old when I was watching her jumping on the trampoline…. Uncle Chris drowned in the lake nine years before she was even born, and nobody in our family talks about it, ever. I asked her where he was and she pointed to the garage and said ”He tells me to be careful.”

Wow... I think I would have moved far away by number 4. There is a theory that kids are able to see spirits because they haven't been told their whole life that spirits don't exist. The idea is we are all born with this sense or channel in our brain for spirits and after years of those around us telling us things like, "it was just a dream" or "you were just imagining that", the pathways close up and we lose our ability to communicate with spirits. Pretty intriguing idea.

#5 would have creeped me the most. Ghost are only scary to me because they're a reminder of our own mortality.

File under "Kids say the creepiest things!"

And why does your post "quotations" show so weird?

I was moose hunting with friends at the base of the Alaska range. We had flown into a strip that we had cleared a few years earlier. It was the only place to land within miles. I showed up the evening after the other hunters had been there a coupe days

I arrived as the hunters made there way back to camp they all told story's of there day. One hunter came in at dark. He had been trying to track a Moose he had shot at just before dark. He was positive he hit it but was not able to find a blood trail. This man is a vary experienced hunter so there was no doubt in my mind there was a crippled moose we had to find in the morning.

As the sun comes up the next morning we are all out of our tents eating breakfast and enjoying my camp coffee. Soon as breakfast is done we all grab our gear to return to the area where my friend shot the moose. We have a couple good trackers in our group I'm confident we will locate the animal. We slowly circled the area the animal was shot, looking for any signs of a wounded animal. As we looked our circles became larger and larger. We are starting to think it was a clean miss, but my buddy believes he had a good hit. We looked and circled more and more. Now the group has started to disband and look instinctively for the animal. I chose to cross a small creek and follow it down the valley. I walked and searched the lower creek for a good three or four miles. By now it was mid afternoon. The camp was three to four miles away as the crow flys. I wanted to get back there before dark so headed back that direction . I worked back to the creek only to find the beavers had built a dam during the summer and had flooded the area. The creek was to high to cross with my knee high boots. Rather then spend the rest of the day in wet boots, socks and pants. I stripped them off before cross the creek and carried them across. As I stepped into the cold black water it was deeper then I thought but still below my waist. Brrr if you know what I mean. I crossed the creek ok but I had no idea the area had been flooded so far back into the brush. As I walked bare foot through the brush and calf high deep water my feet became painfully cold. I badly needed to find some dry ground to get myself dried off, warmed up and cloths and boots put back on.

I finally found it, it was a little island in the middle of the flooded landscape. I'd couldn't been over ten foot dia. But it was enough for me. It was surrounded buy trees and brush but oddly the high ground had little brush on it. As soon as I found a dry spot I set my stuff down then sat down and tried to rub some warmth back into my blue feet. As I warmed I started to hear something moving in the brush behind me. I look but could not see anything but it was definitely moving right to left, left to right and it seemed to do it quite quickly and it was not splashing in the water?. I could not see anything and could not pinpoint exactly were it was but something was definitely moving in the brush. Them I heard this Whooomp. ..Whooomp...Whooomp..whoomp. Whoomp, noise. It sounded like a drum. It seemed to come from my right side then my left side then another direction. I was turning multiple directions trying to face the drum noise. Must of looked rather funny me standing in the middle of nowhere holding a gun scared to heck, with no pants on. But the whoomping noise would not stop. Then the brush started to move violently. The tree tops to my right swirled around like they were caught in a micro tornado. As soon as they stopped the trees to my left did the same, then the tree tops in front of me swirled around also. At that time it felt as if something blew past me. force of wind? I don't know. It freaked me out. I'm getting goose bumps as I write of this experience I had over 10 years ago.

It all calmed down. I didn't wait for my feet to get warmer, I figured it was time to walk them warm. I quickly got myself together and headed back to camp.

Until now I have never told his story. I still get goose bumps thinking about the experience.

We never found that moose nor any sign it was hit. My hunting partner was so disappointed in himself, before he flew home he told me he's to old and would never hunt moose again and he never has.

Guys in gilly suits? You live near a military training area, or hunting area?

Nope there are no guys behind my house just a dried up creek and no hunting or military in my neighborhood. Just things that appeared and disappeared within 20 seconds. Plus gilly suits you can't see thru. Like the fence they were in front of. I did see my share of black helicopters hover and land in the area around us though.

Not supernatural but creepy nonetheless.

Back in ’90/’91 I was working in Amman, Jordan. A co-worker and I were driving in the Jordan Valley, traveling in an older Nissan Patrol on a twisty, paved mountainous road. We were unarmed.

Late into a long day, we came to the crest of a hill where the road also hair-pinned. There was a gravel pull-off so we stopped there to water the rocks and change drivers.

We were standing on a ridge looking at the expanse of the valley before us with a gradual, rock-strewn slope below. The sun was setting and we paused for a few minutes to watch the light wash across the horizon as it got darker and darker.

Anyone who’s spent time in the desert knows how quiet and still it can be. There was no wind and no civilization around for miles. It was absolutely silent.

We were in no hurry to get back in the rough-riding Patrol so we slowly made our way the 30-40 ft across the gravel lot to the truck.

It was my turn to drive and we hopped in. I fired it up and started to ease the clutch out, pulling onto the road. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement in the driver’s outside mirror. I looked in the mirror and in the dim, red glow of the taillights, I saw a pack of large, wild dogs bolting after the Patrol with a vengeance.

We were in a metal skinned, hard topped SUV so by now we were safe, but I don’t know where the pack was when we were standing outside.

Where they stalking amongst the rocks trying to stealthily close the distance to us, or were they nearby, watching from behind the bigger rocks waiting to pounce?

Either way, I got us the f*ck out of there in short order.

Wild dogs are a serious danger in the desert, you should always have some sort of weapon even if it's just a stick. Imagine getting stuck with a pack of those wolf-like dogs around you. They also ambush. They are terrible, they will go after children if they don't see an adult, I've watched it nearly happen.

My story may not be on par with y'all's but it scared the bejesus out of me.

About a year or so ago I lived in the fraternity house I belong too. It's an old house dating to the late 1800s and is separated into 3 apartment sections by brick walls. At the time I was living on what we called the presidents side with one other roommate. As the house was located on the edge of the ghetto just off campus, gun shots were pretty common to hear in the middle of the night and there's a lot of crime around there like our neighbors being burglarized and cars broken into.

We would always joke it was haunted as sometimes you would hear footsteps in the attic and on the second level when the house was empty but always just figured it was our imaginations. We even gave her the name Sarah saying she was a old frat rat that couldn't get enough. (I know, twisted)

But me and my girlfriend of the time were startled awake by something slamming heavily into my door knocking over a coat rack and sending wood splinters into the floor. After a few minutes it happens again scaring the the hell out of us. I figured it was a fraternity brother and started yelling for them to stop and it does for about 10 minutes. Then another slam but this time it almost knocked the lock off the door. At this point she becomes frantic and I'm about scared shitless.

I hit the light and grab my .40 off my dresser and chamber a rounding announcing I'm armed. The slamming becomes much more frequent to the point where the lock began to break off the door. As soon as that happened I decided to fire a warning shot through the door at the floor. The slamming immediately stopped and the lightbulb in my ceiling light popped and went out.

I turned my lamp on that sat on my desk and slowly opened the door only to find nothing but a hole in the floor. My brothers from the other rooms in the house came rushing over at the sound of the gun shot and came through the only door out. All the windows were locked and secured and to this day I refuse to sleep in the house over night.

Dude, that IS pretty creepy!! Maybe "Sarah" was getting jealous of your GF.

That's no joke. Here in the states it's a real issue as well in the desert here. Not so much next to me but on the south edge of town you might at times see as many as 20 in a pack.

This thread is pretty awesome!

This story happened to a friend of mine but he was not the type of guy to make something up so I believed him.

I was on a canoe trip up in Canada with a couple of my buddies. Our guide was a native who was very superstitious and claimed to communicate with the devil. At the time I was not very religious so I did not believe him. That night we stopped at a cabin the forest service had built for hunters to use. We chose the cabin because a storm was supposed to blow in that night and a cabin sounds a lot better than a tent. That night when we went to bed, everyone had fallen asleep, or so I thought. Just as I was about to go to sleep, I saw a dark figure sleep out of the door, he had the same build as our guide so that is who I assumed it was. As soon as he left, the storm started. It was really bad, wind blowing, hail, and tons of thunder. I couldn't sleep so I grabbed a book that a friend of mine had read and said it was good. It was by DC Talk about marytyrs. As I was reading by flashlight, I noticed a faint glow outside. Assuming it was our guide coming back, I disregarded it. I went back to reading my book. All of a sudden the rain stopped. My flashlight flickered and went out. I could still see the glow outside. Suddenly there was a big clap of thunder that startled me. I put my hand against the wall. The wall was warm, like human flesh. As I pulled my hand away, it was covered in a dark, liquid like substance. I started praying, not knowing what else to do. Another clap of thunder followed as the door swung open and the guide entered. He walked into the room followed by three shadowy forms. When they entered the room, the air became still and I was paralyzed. Suddenly the forms withered and disappeared and the guide fell onto his knees and then his sleeping bag exhausted. Out loud I asked for protection from Jesus and the lights in the cabin suddenly turned on. Out guide glared at me, not wanting to reveal anything and everyone else in the cabin woke up. For the rest of the trip the guide was sullen and very guarded.

When ever my friend told me this story, he also showed me his book that he was reading that was blood stained. This experience is partially why he became a Christian and still scares him today.

Grindingears your stories are awesome! Post more please.

So my buddy worked at a yuppie ski/summer lodge in the Sierra Nevadas years ago here in California. We were both in our 20s and single. I worked in Los Angeles and would go and stay with him every chance I could. Fun weekend at a high end lodge for free and winter wheeling( I love 4wheeling in the snow ). One of his duties during the winter was to run the snow cat and groom the cross country ski trails in the middle of the night. Well I would tag along in the snow cat and drink beer while he had the piloting job. One night we were out, a few miles from the lodge, grooming away in this narrow valley. It was about 1/4 mile across from peak to peak left to right with the trail right down the middle. The peaks of each side of the valley couldn't of been tall, maybe 100' or so. Snow covered pine trees flanking us. As all know, up in the mountains at night, it gets real dark. Only the lights of the snow cat showing the way. So up to my right clearing the peak is a real bright green light. It slowly travels across the valley scanning around. Its moving slow, like a helicopter would, yet no noise or rotor wind. My buddy stops the snow cat and we both stare at the light. It just keeps moving slowly from right to left scanning with its light. It finds us and focus's it's light on us! I start to hit my buddy in the side saying " What the F--k is that?!". He says nothing. The light keeps moving across the skyline focused on us until it reaches the peak on the left. When it gets to the left peak, the light goes out and disappears. I am really freaked out and keep asking, what was that?! My buddy wont answer. He just starts to drive forward and we go on.
Nothing the rest of the night.
But my buddy would not talk about it. He just kept saying " SHUT UP! I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!"
To this day, I don't know what we saw. I just know it was not a helicopter or a plane.
Still a little freaked out.
