Wow, great thread ... can't believe I haven't read it until now.

@bangingears: thanks so much for sharing with all of us; I can see how it could be both a blessing and curse. Please continue to post as long as you're comfortable doing so.

Came home after running a few jeep errands after work tonight. Every morning when I leave I lock the security screen front door. So I pull up to my house on my dirt road and that door is open and unlocked. My honey is visiting his parents for the week so it kinda freaked me out. I unlock the front door and come in and my little dog who is usually contained to my bed room and my hall way by a pet gate that has a little cat door... It was closed but the cat door was open and she had full run of the house. Checked everything out and all is in its place. But I am some what meticulous about locking the door. I did leave the back open for the neighbor to let my Lily out but he even thought it was odd the cat door and front screen was open. Gave me an hour or so of unease

So this one, is one that I felt completely unnerving during. This is also the only time I have had an outside source confirm a presence. Unfortunately it changed the dynamic of my friendship with my buddy who was present

I have always loved the outdoors, and so when I reached my college career I found that I could get a ton of work down and have some fun by heading out to the desert some weekends with my buddy and just sit around in the peace of nature and get our hw done. Plus with a Honda generator an ice chest, and a Verizon hot spot we could do pretty much anything from the desert as we could at our homes. We tooled around trying to find a place to camp at and one that the hotspot had good reception with. We worked our way into a canyon and you could see that this canyon had many mines, it was also a well known area for silver mines back in the late 1880’s. I found an area where I was able to drive up a hill and switch back so that I was on top of one of the canyon ridges. The Hotspot signaled 5 bars and we had this awesome view so we set up shop. I also brought my dog chipper with me on these trips and he is a glorified throw rug, he’s chocolate lab and unless you have a gun and a pheasant in a bush, he is no help to you. But I remember being surprised at how attentive he was. He would normally smell around and then come back to camp but he kept wanting to crawl around and I don’t like not knowing where he is, a big fear out there is falling down a mine shaft.

We pulled out the cots, got the man kitchen up and decided before the sun was going down to just do a quick walk through of some of the close mind entrances we saw. We walked to a few of them and saw they had been bulk headed shut from close within. The sun was really going down so we walked back to camp, I started a small fire and we started up one laptop with Netflix and started in with homework and such. It was normal for us to just start vibing and work into midnight or so before coming out of our hw trance. My buddy kept saying he was getting really cold and I kept saying I was getting really hot. I about dropped my macbook when he yelled HOLY SHIT! Chipper started to growl from under my feet and I jumped about 20 feet in the air when I saw a soulette and a pair of eyes in the dark. About 6 foot tall, normal build. I always pack alittle heat when I am out there overnight, I have seen hills have eyes, and no atomic monkey child is raping me out in the desert. I told the guy, “dude you scared us pretty good!”. I asked him where he camped, as we hadn’t seen anyone for quite sometime. He didn’t answer and instead his eyes where back to my buddy, and back to me, to the dog and then back to me. I told him we didn’t have another chair as we didn’t expect visitors. This is when my hair stood up on end. My buddy said, “DUDE stop talking, what are you doing!!”. I remember feeling perplexed again, I looked at Jake and then back at the guy and said to jake, “you don’t see him anymore”. Jake responded NO!, but I did! If you have ever had your heart about to bust out of your chest this was my moment. I remember the eyes changing, sorta like when you read the eyes of a person who is smirking. Chipper was now seated at my left side ears up, eyes on the same figure as my own. I told Jake to shut up and sit down. I looked back at the figure and said, “you have my attention”. The figure walked closer and the light of the fire started to show more, his shirt was button up white, but dirty as hell, it was more of a beige color. I looked at Jake and he was white as a bar of soap. I looked back at the figure and now I could see half his face, it was burned, the scars were deep and it looked like lots of heat and an unfortunate wound I remember thinking his face was half cracked leather. I remember at this time the COLD my friend talked about cut through me like a hot knife through butter. And I remember the figure just felt wrong, he felt evil. His eyes felt evil. He seemed to want to do me harm. It was like he was projecting helplessness , and worry, anxiety and fear. It was an emotional roller coaster that happened in seconds but felt like hours. As a religious person I did what I would do in the last line of defense. I cried out, “IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST I REBUKE ALL EVIL AND CLAIM MYSELF IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST!”. Before I finished my sentence I and Jake both felt the cold disappear and the figure seemed to drift back into the black until the eyes disappeared once again.

From what Jake says he only saw a silloheutte of the person and the eyes when he first glanced up from his laptop. That’s why he jumped. He says that after that he saw nothing. He thought I was playing on his emotions and mocking him until he saw my face when I asked “you don’t see him?” Jake cant understand what he saw, and he to this day does not even like going out to that general area of the desert. Jake use to make fun of me for talking about spirits and “supernatural”, but now as an atheist he cant understand what he feels or what he saw. I gave him crap on the ride home, still nervous from what happened I joked to him, “One spiritual entity and you’re a bible thumping Baptist.” He has never gone camping with me sense, after I told him about the other stories.

Also me and a few of my friends went to this old run down mental hospital called Bryce in Tuscaloosa. We would go and sit in surgical rooms and we would hear strange noises coming down the halls. The weirdest thing that happened was when we went to the 2nd floor all the doors on the hallway swung open and closed at the same time. We ran out of there and havent been back since.
Hey is that the hospital right next to campus

Fascinating! Thanks for sharing, Bangingears. Do you still have visits from the 3 spirits that visited during your childhood?

Like many others on here, please keep posting.

The post about the plane reminded me about a plane crash we heard about last year and during hunting season, we found the spot. The crash happened back in the 50's and it took 2 days to get to the wreckage.

I have some pics and will try to post tonight.

Barth, Levi and Jack all changed as I grew up. Levi never returned after the event with my grandmother. I also have thought that his soul was finally at rest after finally being able to say he was sorry. Or at least that’s what I hope happened.

Bartholomew stayed with me for the rest of the time I lived on the farm, my parents finally made the decision to move to North Carolina and the last time I saw him was the night before we left the farm for good. I remember that night vividly. My mom use to come into my room and sit down with me till I would fall asleep when I was little. I remember she came in and I told her she didnt have to tonight, Bartholomew was with me. She would always sort of cringe and walk away (your crazy child is comforted by the dead). He didn’t say much, most of the time he would tell me stories of cows and the farm, but this time he just laid next to me as my mother had done so many nights, his presence was comforting, he was always like an extra security blanket to me. He sang his song and at the end said "good bye little one". I have always wanted to take a trip back to the farm, I have heard the farm changed hands frequently after us. I would love to know if I could see him one more time.

Jack, stayed with me the longest, again as I grew up I didnt see him as frequently. I would see him in my dreams and I saw him in times of real need. My father had major medical problems and whenever I felt vulnerable and scared He would come to me and calm those anxieties. A couple times he showed up while wrenching on my jeep or dirt bikes in the garage. I still find it weird and a blessing to be able to have talked to a grandfather I never “got” to meet. When I graduated High school and received my diploma, I remember looking out to where my family was seated. I saw my father, Jack, and my grandmother next to him. I remember his one handed thumbs up while waving his navy hat in the air. I never told my dad what I saw, but I did ask him what he thought of the ceremony. He told me he loved it, but he kept feeling cold and getting goose bumps. I think that’s just the body’s senses identifying the presence of something it cannot understand, that’s just my theory. 2 years ago my grandmother passed. I gave a speech at her funeral, my grandmother was a very influential person in my life and practically raised me for 9 years every summer. I remember during my speech starting to break down. I looked at my dad for strength to get through the last paragraph. Sitting in the empty seat that had been mine next to my father was Jack, he smiled, and nodded “you can do it” is the words I heard. I looked at my dad and smiled, finished my speech and glanced back to my which now sat empty. That was the last time I saw him.

I forgot all about this time in the woods. Riding Atvs with my friends through trails we ride all the time. I was going really slow because I had some people on the back and spent more time looking around because of it. That's when I saw something hanging from a tree it was a balloon with a envelope attached to it. One of us ended up climbing the tree to get to it and it ended up being from a woman who let's hundreds of these things loose every year on the date her son died in a car accident and wanted people to right back to see how far it had gone. Not really sure what ever came of it my friend took the letter and we havnt talked about it since

Out around where we deer and moose hunt, we heard about the remains of a plane crash from the fifties. Due to clear cutting, it was easy to find and come to find out, a little monument was placed to mark the date of the crash and tell a brief history of the event.

I am not really a believer in this kind of stuff, because I have not experienced any paranormal activity. But your stories, for some reason are intriguing.

I find myself waiting and hoping that you have posted another story about your experiences. No pressure though...
