Few weeks ago, when I still had my chevy, they had a post about the wierdest thing you have seen off roading. It was an interesting thread over there, created a lot of interest, but I am not one to be uniform... I like to be original :)

Anyway, took my rubi out to stretch her legs today, and when I got home I realized my brakes had been starting to feel a little funny since about half way through our "adventure." Now I am used to drum brakes in the rear, so I never thought much of it, just figured some mud. Anywho, after cleaning the lights and brakes off at the gas station/car wash, I poped my hood to check fluids and what do you know. My brake fluid resevior cap went missing...... Dude at the shop 2 days ago must not have tightened it down good enough and I lost it on the trail. Goes to show ya, even if youve done it a million times, always make sure you test the tightness of ALL caps and dipsticks, not just fluid level

So whats the wierdest thing you all have ever broken or lost off road?

Think my wierdest, is breaking my buddies dixie horn. Dumb^%# was messing around with it all night back in the park, wasnt paying attention and sunk the front end into a big muddy sinkhole. Knocked his ghetto connectors loose and packed em with mud. Couldnt play his horn no more, got pissed off and he left  :p

Bent the track bar over the front axle housing and lost all steering to the left...a bit too much flex,

In the Ford I used to have (was a 2002 Single cab short box) went to put it in 4wd and I pulled the shifter knob right off.

i ripped off the starter "key wire" and had to roll start it to get home. now im sporting a push button starter :D

also, trashed a front driveshaft (replaced) , smashed a fender (cut them off), bent front bumper (bobbed it off), ripped off my exhaust (P.O. had routed the exhaust WAY too low andit snagged a rock. now i have custom exhaust routing up out of harm's way)

Sounds like you are close to running on the frame:D

no need for all that steel, less weight mean better floatation.

I haven't broken anything on the Jeep yet, but in my 2003 Ford Escape I was going down a trail and went into a mud puddle. I hit a rock in said puddle, and crushed my exhaust manifold  (transverse mounted engine.) I ended up pulling the O2 sensor out and driving it home, then I cut out thecrushed part and drove it like that for a few months... it sounded awesome. :punk:

Just this past weekend crushed/ripped a hole in the fuel line on my '11 JKU! Smelled gas, checked couldn't see any damage, but oh ya.... must have dropped out of the clips and got pinched between the frame and a rock :( :( Thank you CAA!!! - oh and JUST JEEPS for the very speedy repair!
